Sky News : 'World Is Beginning To Demand More Action'

When will the hippies of the world learn that you don't fix something by throwing money at it?

To make a shooting analogy:

There are guys (and girls) that spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on their equipment. But they still suck. Because they don't take the time to change internally, to practice, to learn. That $2000 pistol will save them 5 seconds a stage in their mind, but in the end, they are the same shooter they were before they spent the money and their results haven't changed one bit.

Throwing money at "poverty" is giving us exactly the same result. How much have we spent on poverty in the United States since LBJ's War on Poverty? And golly, there are still poor people in America. Granted, they are the richest poor in the world, but there are still obviously "poor" people in the United States.

Now, until the countries of Africa come into the 21st century, adopt a free market economy and democracy, and lose the corrupt leaders that seem to always rise to the top, they are going to stay a large part of the 3rd world. No matter how much money Bono throws at it.
