Helen Thomas - No Right Turn For Democrats

In case you didn't know already, Helen Thomas is a quack. I get many giggles reading her tripe!!

Among other things, enjoy the following:
"Democrats who joked about fleeing to Canada after the re-election of President Bush should stick around and stick to their values."

Personally, nothing would make me happier than to have the demorats run with their tails between their legs to their brethren to the North. After all, couldn't one make the argument that a good portion of modern day Canadians are related to the American Tories who fled the fledgling US during the war of independence??? Ergo, the two parties would seem to be related in more ways than one.

But there's more!!

"The Bush drive to privatize Social Security and his eagerness to stack the U.S. Supreme Court with right-wing justices are two instances where the loyal opposition of the minority Democratic party will be essential."

HEY! Newsflash, Helen!!! In case you haven't noticed, Social Security is getting ready to go bankrupt. My generation (genX) ain't ever gonna see it. But I'm sure that you, and your socialist values would love nothing else but to have my generation continue paying for your generation, leaving us with nothin' in the bank - why should you care, you're going to be dead!

And, oh, if appointing justices who actually adhere to the Constitution rather than make shit up as each day goes by means they're right wing fanatics, then I guess you can call me a right wing fanatic myself, you old bat.

There's more, and it's largely entertaining - if you've got the holiday blues, give it a read for a quick pick-me-up!

Declaration of Independence Banned at Calif School

As if we needed another reason to ask California to secede and join Canada.

The fools who would like to get rid of every historical fact just because they don't like it, and it doesn't fit into their whacked out, PC version of the world are no better than those who try and pretend that slavery never happened.

The Ninth Circuit Appeals Court Reinstates Gun Industry Lawsuit

"Christopher Renzulli, the attorney for Glock and the RSR companies, said the Glock that the gunman, Buford Furrow (search), used to kill letter carrier Joseph Ileto was originally sold to the police department in Cosmopolis, Wash., by the RSR companies.
'How are we supposed to monitor a gun after we sell it to a law enforcement agency?' Renzulli said."
THIS is why those liberal morons in the Ninth Circuit need to be cut loose. Stupid.

Future of 9th Circuit Under Review

This would be a great thing. Then, once California's wacko court no longer speaks for the rest of the West, we can finally saw the Golden State off of the continent, and let it drift away to...say, Australia.

Look Who Isn't Talking

Great piece on the superficial nature of the Hollyweird endorsements of politicians. These liberal cranks who backed Kerry don't have 2 words to say when it comes to the murder of a filmmaker by Muslim terrorists, but they're the moral compass that holds no compunction against telling us how we ought to live and vote?
Giving Hollywood the benefit of the doubt, I did one more search to find industry response to the van Gogh murder. I found the blog of novelist and screenwriter Roger L. Simon, who confirmed that I wasn't the only one who'd been wondering: "It's stunning how silent the American artistic community, Hollywood in particular, has been about the murder of Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh in Amsterdam," he wrote. "Do they even know what happened to one of their own? Have they even heard of him? Do they care someone was killed for making a film which protested violent abuse against women? Are they even interested?"
They don't stand for ideals - they stand for publicity and some sort of validation. Validation for their lives that largely consist of pretending to be something they're not. Hypocrites.

Dan Rather To Step Down From Anchorman Job

Ahhh, his work is done. Now that he's managed to embarrass himself, CBS AND his entire profession, it's the "right time" for him to step down. And I hear his buddy Brokaw is next. Ding, dong, the witch is dead...

Hunter Murder: Assault Rifle?

Vang is accused of opening fire on several hunters Sunday with a semiautomatic assault rifle, leaving six people dead and two wounded, authorities said.
The last time I checked, the SKS was a curio and relic piece that goes for about $129, and is popular as a cheap, somewhat reliable hunting rifle. As defined, your basic so-called "assault rifle" has scary features like pistol grips, collapsible stocks, flash hiders and the like. I think it might have a detachable magazine, and some models come with a folding bayonet, but that's about it. In other words, it's the same as a Ruger Mini-30 (same caliber and all), which nobody would characterize as an assault weapon. Bet your butt that the VPC has latched onto it, though.

In any event, I'm pretty sure the trigger didn't pull itself. Of course, his relatives are shocked and stunned, but they are quick to point out that racism may have played a role in these murders. Apparently, there's a large Hmong population in St. Paul, MN (figure that one out - from Laos to Minnesota???). Crazy situation. Guess we'll stand by and wait for the rest of the story...

CNN.com - Belgium: Bastogne recalls Battle of the Bulge - Nov 22, 2004

CNN.com - Belgium: Bastogne recalls Battle of the Bulge - Nov 22, 2004

I'm pretty sure I'll NEVER understand what these men went through during the Bulge. As the reporter says, I'm not sure ANYONE does. But I am very glad that they did. I'm also glad to see that the people of Bastone are not forgetting what they did.

I'm sure a movie will never come close to what it was like, although I thought Band of Brothers was fantastic, especially the Bastone episodes. These men should never have to pay taxes or pay for their own beer.

Just as I'm sure that our soldiers now fall into that same category. As we all settle into a nice wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and a day filled with family and football, I will be thinking of them. I hope everyone takes a moment to think about our Armed Forces over the holidays.

Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, Thank You!

And "Nut's".....

Turn your back on Bush.

Ah, nonviolent activism. It's futile, but at least it's ineffective.

It's such a good idea to post your plans on the world wide interweb, too:
On January 20th, 2005, we're calling for a new kind of action. The Bush administration has been successful at keeping protesters away from major events in the last few years by closing off areas around events and using questionable legal strategies to outlaw public dissent. We can use these obstacles to develop new tactics. On Inauguration day, we don't need banners, we don't need signs, we don't need puppets, we just need people.

We're calling on people to attend inauguration without protest signs, shirts or stickers. Once through security and at the procession, at a given signal, we'll all turn our backs on Bush's motorcade and continue through his speech and swearing in. A simple, clear and coherent message.
Come on, people - it's not really a protest until someone gets a canister of CS in the face. Show some initiative.

13-Year Old Charged With Abducting Exotic Dancer

Please - won't someone think of the children? Otherwise, they come up with good ideas like making a stripper dance at gunpoint.

The Australian: Biological attacks 'next terror step'

I hope this guy is wrong. However, it does show to what depths our enemy is willing to plunge in order to advance their lunacy. They're willing and evidently able to use chemical and biological weapons. Any suggestions on how you fight that? I have my own ideas.

'We Are Not Alone': Astronomer Predicts Alien Contact By 2025

Yet another daring prognostication from our feckless friends at SETI. Make a prediction that 20 years from now, ___________________ (fill in the blank). I still want my flying car, and I'm a little aggravated at science for not having them by the year 2001.
