The Middle Ground: Open Letter To Michael Moore

Whoa. Hell indeed hath no fury like a woman blogger scorned. Don your asbestos goggles before reading, then bow before the greatness that is Kat.
You think yourself Prometheus, bringing fire and light to humanity. It is my hope that your everlasting damnation be the same as his, chained to a mountain while vultures eat your liver out every day, only to regenerate and have it happen again from here to eternity. Ahh...but that would still not be good enough as the vultures would probably choke on the putrid fat and flesh of your body before they ever reached the only functioning organ you ever possessed.

You will go down in infamy as the Goebbels of the twenty first century. Benedict Arnold without the grace or past heroic endeavors of even a traitor like he.
Chihuahua. Kat, you rule.

John Kerry for President - A Lifetime of Service and Strength?

Interesting. I'm doing a little research project for my dad on just what were JFKII's grades in Yale, as the libby's love to tease Bush about his Cs and B's.

Here's the only mention of JFKII's Yale experience:
"As he was graduating from Yale...." You gotta figure he spent a minimum of 4 years in college. What did he study? What was his major/minor? What were his grades?? Now, compared to the 4 months in Vietnam, Kerry literally has pages. I love this one:

Dec 1968
Experiences first intense combat and earns first Purple Heart

Sooooo, throwing a grenade into a cache of rice and fragging yourself in the ass qualifies as "intense combat"??

But seriously, if any of you can help me track down Kerry's collegiate record, that'd be splendid.

RealClear Politics - Polls

Now, this is something funky about the polls to date:
Bush has Kerry beaten both head to head and with Nader on the ballot. BUT, Bush is beating Kerry by a greater margin head to head at 2.9% while he's only beating him at 2.5% with Nader involved. Are you telling me that Bush is losing voters to Nader rather than Kerry?? I think not. Should be an interesting next week or so...

Bad news (and good) on Arctic warming

Yet another sham of the eco-nazis. When you consider that the Mt. St. Helens eruption (the last big one, not just the little one recently) released more pollutants into the environment THAN ALL OF MANKIND SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME, you'll realize why I'm really not worried about it. If we are capable of controlling the weather, why don't we get rid of droughts, hurricanes, and tornadoes?

Plus, you just gotta love the Times - heaven forbid that the "warming" of the ice caps allow mankind to profit!
"There, sea-bed deposits of oil and gas that have until now been cloaked in thick shifting crusts of sea ice could soon be exploitable, and ice-free trade routes over Siberia could significantly cut shipping distances between Europe and Asia in the summer."
So, in other words, oil and gas will be more accessible, and therefore cheaper, and trade goods from across the globe will be cheaper because it's easier to move them across the oceans. Wow, sounds good to me! But wait!
"But the list of potential harms is far longer. The same retreat of sea ice, it says, "is very likely to have devastating consequences for polar bears, ice-living seals, and local people for whom these animals are a primary food source."
Ohmygosh! Polar bears and seals will lose their homes?! And the local people who eat them won't have any food!?! Sounds like the bears and seals will either adapt or die, and the locals need a Wal-Mart.

I love that opening sentence:
"the list of potential harms is far longer."
Yeah, in case you hadn't noticed, the New York Times has long ago lost the mantle as the newspaper of record. Now they're just another rag.

Early Voting Has Ended

The early voting lines yesterday were most impressive. Weather for Tuesday promises to be cool and windy. I can't wait. That's right, I didn't vote early - I love the experience of being a part of Election Day.

Labor Memo Suggests Bush to Win Election

Did Mr. Kerry somehow manage to forget President Carter???

I keep wondering where they pull this bullshit figure from...
"If the Bush administration focused more on the economy and less on politics, George Bush would not be the first president in 70 years to lose jobs," said Kerry campaign spokesman Phil Singer. "George Bush has turned the government into his own taxpayer-funded political machine."
And, oh yeah - let's hope the economists are right!

BIN LADEN TRANSCRIPT
FRI OCT 29 2004 17:45:46 ET

Newsreader: A new message from Bin Laden to the American people about the reasons and resulats of the 9/11 attacks.

Newsreader 2: The head of AL Qaeda says the continuation of us policy will lead to the repetition of what happened.

Male presenter: The head of AL Qaeda organization directed a message to the American people and this video and audio apearence in this tape which Jezeera required for the first time for two years. In the beginning of his message, he spoke about the reasons why they chose the US to execute 9/11..

OBL: You American people, my speech to you is the best way to avoid another conflict about the war and its reasons and results. I am telling you security is an important pillar of human life. And free people don't let go of their security contrary to Bush's claims that we hate freedom. He should tell us why we didn't hit Sweden for instance. Its known that those who hate freedom don't have dignified souls.like the 19 who were blessed. But we fought you because we are free people, we don't sleep on our oppression. We want to regain the freedom of our Muslim nation as you spill our security, we spill your security.

Female presenter: Bin Laden spoke for the first time about the main reasons he thought of executing Sept 11 attacks, confirming that the Israeli operation in Lebanon was the first incident where he thought of it.

OBL: I am so surprised by you. Although we are in the fourth year after the events of sept 11, Bush is still practicing distortion and misleading on you, and obscuring the main reasons and therefore the reasons are still existing to repeat what happened before. I will tell you the reasons behind theses incidents.

I will be honest with you on the moment when the decision was taken to understand. We never thought of hitting the towers. But after we were so fed up, and we saw the oppression of the American Israeli coalition on our people in Palestine and Lebanon, it came to my mind and the incidents that really touched me directly goes back to 1982 and the following incidents. When the US permitted the Israelis to invade Lebanon with the assistance of the 6th fleet. In these hard moments, it occurred to me so many meanings I cant explain but it resulted in a general feeling of rejecting oppression and gave me a hard determination to punish the oppressors. While I was looking at the destroyed towers in Lebanon, it came to my mind to punish the oppressor the same way and destroy towers in the US to get a taste of what they tasted, and quit killing our children and women.

Male presenter: Bin Laden considered in his message that the results of Sept 11 were successful in his opinion and as a reason of that, he said that the similarity between the administration of Bush the father and the arab regimes said Bush learned so much from them during his visits.

OBL: We didn't find difficulty dealing with Bush and his administration due to the similarity of his regime and the regims in our countries. Whish half of them are ruled by military and the other half by sons of kings and presidents and our experience with them is long. Both parties are arrogant and stubborn and the greediness and taking money without right and that similarity appeared during the visits of Bush to the region while people from our side were impressed by the US and hoped that these visits would influence our countries. Here he is being influenced by these regimes, Royal and military. And was feeling jealous they were staying for decades in power stealing the nations finances without anybody overseeing them. So he transferred the oppression of freedom and tyranny to his son and they call it th e Patriot Law to fight terrorism. He was bright in putting his sons as governors in states and he didn't forget to transfer his experience from the rulers of our region to Florida to falsify elections to benefit from it in critical times.

Female Presenter: Bin Laden considered the way Bush dealt with the first moments of Sept. 11, giving a good chance to the executors of Sept. 11 to complete it.

OBL: We agreed with Mohamed Atta, god bless him, to execute the whole operation in 20 minutes. Before Bush and his administration would pay attention and we never thought that the high commander of the US armies would leave 50 thousand of his citizens in both towers to face the horrors by themselves when they most needed him because it seemed to distract his attention from listening to the girl telling him about her goat butting was more important than paying attention to airplanes butting the towers which gave us three times the time to execute the operation thank god.

Male presenter: the final part of the message is that the security of the Americans depends on the policy that they execute despite the winner of the elections.

OBL: Your security is not in the hands of Kerry or Bush or Al Qaeda. Your security is in your hands. Each state that doenst mess with our security has automatically secured their security.

Female Presenter: In Bin Laden's message he approached other points. He pointed to the contradiction which considers oppression and killing of innocents a legal act. They formed an international law as bush the father did with the children of iraq according to bin laden. Bin Laden pointed to the millions of pounds of explosives dropped on Iraqi children as bush his son had done, as he said to remove an old agent and install a new agent to help instealing the oil of iraq. And bin laden said the events of 9/11 came as an answer to this oppression and said that if the answer to this oppression is considered bad terror, then we need to do it. And he stressed that he wants to deliver this message to the Americans in words and in deeds since the 9/11 events. He reminded Americans of a few warning messages through various news media like Time Magazine and CNN and other Arab and correspondents since 1996. He warned them of the conswquences of their countries policies. He talked abou t the damage Sept 11 caused the US economy and that it cost close to a trillion dollars. He talked about President Bush and that the emergency law requires more money.

PoliPundit.com - Ray Fair Says: It's 1972 All Over Again

I love this. In fact, I love this whole site.
The very last time an incumbent GOP President was challenged by a liberal U.S. Senator was in 1972. And, coincidentally, the country, back then, also was “bitterly divided,” at least according to the media, over a war action on foreign soil.

Richard Nixon barely won re-election that year, taking 49 out of 50 states, and just over 60 percent of the popular vote.
The numbers don't lie, do they?
So, how accurate is Fair Model No. 1?

Measured against the twenty-two presidential contests that occurred between 1916 and 2000, the average “error,” so to speak, was 1.5 percentage points. The largest error, which occurred in 1992, was 5.1 percentage points.

Another fraud from aljazeera. If all OBL does is talk about 9/11, kinda makes you wonder if he's not already dead, doesn't it?

The Avenging Alterman

I may have mentioned this before, but I hate Eric Alterman's guts. I don't think I can overstate that, really.
He's the kind of guy whom even close friends call "arrogant," "intolerable" and "asshole"-but always affectionately and always followed by praise.
I don't mean it affectionately, nor will I follow it with praise. He's a contributing writer at MSNBC, and he's a hate-spewing, regurgitant, lying, liberal tool.
In any case, given the chaos into which Iraq continues to fall further every day, it’s getting harder and harder to defend my pre-war contention that while this war would be a disaster for America and for the world, it would at least benefit the Iraqis.

My guess is that you’d have a hard time finding many Iraqis who’d say that today. And Cheney is out bragging about it. They like this thing. They’re proud of it. They want to do more of it and they’re going to have to draft your sons and daughters to make it so. More Fallujas. More Abu Graibs. More Al Qaqaas.
He goes on spewing:
That really is the last straw. Not merely every nation in the world that opposed the war—which is every one but Israel, but the Iraqi people too, will celebrate if enough patriots come out in Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, Missouri, Minnesota, Washington, Iowa, and Pennsylvania, among others, and save America and the rest of the world from this accursed leadership.
Patriots? He considers himself a patriot? What America is he so patriotic about? The isolationist America that does nothing to defend itself from the spectre of terrorism? The America that believes mere threats will keep us safe from zealots who have openly declared war on our society?

No thanks, Eric. I say we take it to the bad guys, and not sit around waiting for the next 9/11. Forget about the "good old days" of liberal politics, pal. That doesn't play in the real world, where real bad guys really want to kill us and plunge our society into chaos.

War isn't about who's biggest and baddest. War is an extension of policy used only when other means of policy have failed. The military is the tip of the spear, and you'd better have someone worth his mettle holding the spear. John Kerry ain't it, never was, never will be.

The Cedar Valley Daily Times: Harkin campaigns for Kerry, Pettengill, says Kerry's rise in polls is what God wants

"'That's how God wants it to be,' Harkin told a group of about 25 people at the Benton County Headquarters in Vinton on Thursday afternoon."

Boy, sounds like a religious zealot to me!! If someone said the same thing about Bush, this would be national news, and not just a little local story.

Victor Davis Hanson on Election 2004 on National Review Online

all the prescription drug policies for old people, handouts to the poor, and tax cuts for the rich mean nothing if there's another smoking hole in an American City. Get out and vote, people, and vote for Bush.

"Meanwhile, we all vote. One candidate urges us to return to the mindset of pre-September 11 — law enforcement dealing with terrorists as nuisances. He claims the policies that have led to an absence of another attack at home, the end of the Taliban and Saddam Hussein, idealistic efforts to extend freedom, and radical and positive changes in Pakistan, Libya, the West Bank, and the Gulf have made things worse. In contrast, the other reminds us that we are in a real war against horrific enemies and are no longer passive targets, but will fight the terrorists on their home turf, win, and leave behind humane government. No choice could be clearer. It is America's call."

THE BELGRAVIA DISPATCH: The Great New York Times al-Qaqaa Rollback...

OK. I'm trying to keep up with the DemonRats play list. Did we NOT guard the explosives?

This is ANOTHER clear indication of what was going on in Iraq prior to the invasion. You can put your head under your pillow and hide from the facts, but they are still facts. Sadam removed his weapons of war prior to us getting there. And it also clearly illustrates where the next problem will start, Syria.

I wonder how Scary Kerry will spin this?

Vote.

We've all seen this already. Some face-covering hero of Islam has proclaimed doom and gloom on the US of A on video. He's got an American accent. Hmmm. I wonder who it could be? Adam Gadhan, perhaps? Who's he, you ask? This tub of guts is probably the boogeyman on the video. American-born (well, California, anyway), converted to Islam. He's a bad boy who's been to Al Qaeda's Finishing School for Disgruntled Young Dorks. No doubt he got into it for the virgins. Nothing more passionate than a convert, eh?

This was sent to me by a friend.

Gee, let's ask the Terrorists who they want for president. I wonder why they would want Scary Kerry? Maybe because the world knows he's soft on terrorists. Because he is constantly telling anyone that will listen, "the wrong war, the wrong time". He continually insists he would involve the UN. It's called lack of support.

If you want to sleep safe, vote for G. W. If you want to have more attacks like 9/11, Kerry is your man.

Over at Horsefeathers is a great little discourse regarding John Kerry's "plans." It's too easy to say you've got things under control - a real leader demonstrates it. Maybe Kerry should consider apologizing for anything that he's done wrong?? You know, like acting like an ass when he returned home after a brief stint in Vietnam....

Or since he's a libby, does he get a free pass?

New York Post Online Edition: commentary

New York Post Online Edition: commentary

Maybe we're seeing a swing of some of the fence-sitters or even some of the nay-sayers. When things strike close to home, suddenly decisions are re-evaluated and reviewed. Parents, even parents that are journalists, are suddenly faced with the cold hard facts of who is running this war on terror. And who is best equipped to deal with the tough decisions that must be made. And who is best equipped to bring your boy home.

Suddenly, the lives of someone you care for is in the hands of a man that bases his decision making on which way the political wind is blowing. On a whim. And it becomes clear, that perhaps your son or daughter deserves better. Maybe all of our Armed Forces deserve better. Which leads us to the big question, don't we, as a country, deserve better?

So I guess he's flip-flopping again. We should have gone into Iraq sooner?

Another example of, never let the facts get in the way of a good sound bite.

Decision2004: Kerry sounds clarion call to Florida's black voters

so, lemme get this straight. Bush's Christianity is bad, he's obviously a zealot on a mission.

But, it's quite another thing for the demo-rats to go into every black church in the country and beg for help.

How typical.

When are the blacks in this country going to wake up and understand that the demo-rats have a 50 year history of doing nothing but holding them back??? I guess having a president who appoints a black woman as National Security Advisor, a black man as Secretary of State, and the party that nominated a black man to be a justice on the Supreme Court means nothing as they're all uncle toms, right?

Rehnquist Has Cancer, Will Return to Work

Why do the Demo-rats continue to do this!?! Someone who can have a rational, logical thought, explain this to me. Bush (and the Republicans) want judges on the supreme court who will adhere to the strict interpretation of the constitution.

The main subject that Kerry (and the Demo-rats) seem to give a rat's ass about, is the abortion issue, which I don't believe was ever one of the intended powers of the founding fathers. But there I go using my history degree. What'd I know?

Regardless, I still think it's completely asinine to base your entire choice on who sits on the supreme court based on the abortion issue.

Bush said at the Republican convention: "I support the protection of marriage against activist judges, and I will continue to appoint federal judges who know the difference between personal opinion and the strict interpretation of the law."

Kerry has said he would nominate only Supreme Court justices who support abortion rights, and his campaign Web site says he would name "judges with a record of enforcing the nation's civil rights and anti-discrimination laws."

Bush Aide Draws Fire with Pre-Election Speech

I love it when something like this makes the news, but you hear nothing on the national level of early republican voters being intimidated by union thugs or the dozens of republican campaign offices that have been broken into in the last few weeks.

We don't seem to care about the out and out problems that mr kerry seems to have in remembering where he was, and when he was there - from cambodia, to speeches with Hanoi Jane, to which members of the security council he met with and when etc etc etc.

But, we are going to give Condi a hard time because she hints that John Kerry is a dork. Lovely.

Clinton and Kerry Team Up on Bush

You gotta love it when the demo-rats start whining about "don't listen to the other guy when he's just trying to scare you" mumbo jumbo. Maybe they think our collective memory is short?? I seem to recall the demo-rats throwing a major scare into seniors on social security and saying that the evil republicans were going to stop feeding school lunches to children blah blah blah. Or, perhaps the adds that the NAACP is running in Missouri that are comparing modern day republicans to the thugs who used water hoses against blacks over 4 decades ago.

And, I do also seem to recall that the last sinking demo-rat ship the clintons tried to save was good ole Governor Davis and I think he got a royal ass whipping from the terminator.

EDWARDS WIFE: NO RIOTS IF WE WIN

so, there won't be any riots if the Dems win, but what about when they lose??

Security Council members deny meeting Kerry - The Washington Times: Nation/Politics - October 25, 2004

""The Democrat has also made his own veracity a centerpiece of his campaign, calling truthfulness "the fundamental test of leadership.""

Maybe Kerry should take his own advice???

Election Projection - 2004 Edition

It's only 8 more days until Election Day. As I sit here on a Monday morning, looking forward to the week ahead, I wonder exactly what this week will bring. Kerry's getting desperate. Democrats are getting more shrill. Lawyers are salivating over the prospect of election challenges. CBS is giving Dan Rather all the gin he can drink. Campaign headquarters are being looted. Yard signs are being destroyed. It's all coming to a head, and I (for one) am ready for this election to be over.

I'm going out on a limb here, and guessing that come Wednesday, November 3, one of two things will have happened: 1) George Bush is the clear winner of the race, and Kerry concedes, or 2) it's too close to call, and we'll be in for another round of recounts ala 2000. I'm leaning towards #1, of course, but I doubt the Democratic candidate has the huevos to admit when he's lost. Reckon we'll see. Notice that I did not consider a third scenario involving the desecration of our nation's highest office. Don't think that's gonna happen.

Another thought about this week: who else will try to disrupt our election process? If anyone does, take a look at who it is, and consider one thing: why do they want Bush out of office so badly?
