MSNBC - Will draft fears sway voters?

Once again, there is NO depth to which the Democrats will not sink to further their misguided cause.

Draft? Who said anything about a draft?

Polls

This just slays me. The media's not liberal? Right.

Kerry is ahead in the polls, and it's gospel.
Bush is ahead in the polls, and the question is:

"Do you believe Presidential polls accurately reflect public opinion?"

Come November, I reckon we'll all find out, huh?

Tests Show James Died of Heart Attack

"Toxicology revealed the presence of the following drugs: Alprazolam (Xanax), Diazepam (Valium), Bupropion (Wellbutrin), Citalopram (Celexa), Hydrocodone (Vicodin), Digoxin, Chlorpheniramine, methamphetamine, and cocaine," the statement said. "None of the drugs or drug combinations were found to be at levels that were life threatening in and of themselves."

Um. Okay.

Fan Pursues Bonds Home Run Ball, But Strikes Out

Here's a story of a man with more money than sense. He spent $25,000 to buy up all the seats in right field for 2 games in order to catch Barry Bonds' 700th home run. Problem is, he computed back in March that October 1st & 3rd were the likely dates. Guess what? As of September 16th, Bonds has 699 homers. D'oh.

Yahoo! News - Federal Ban on Assault Weapons Ends

All the liberal hissy-fit hand-wringing conniptions can stop now. It's done. It's over.

The AWB was NOT ABOUT MACHINE GUNS. It never was. The AWB was about cosmetic features on certain scary-looking "ugly" guns. Period.

Take, for example, the Ruger Mini-14 rifle. Cute name, huh? It's a small carbine chambered for the .223 caliber round, the same bullet used in the M-16 (military auto rifle) and the AR-15 (civilian semi-auto rifle). In and of itself, it looks just like any other hunting rifle on the market, and is particularly popular with ranchers (there's even a "Ranch Rifle" model). However, add a flash supressor, a pistol grip, and a collapsible stock, and what have you got?

The exact same rifle, but now it's scary-looking. Fires the same rate (one bullet per pull of the trigger), fires the same bullet. That's all. Just cosmetic. Here's a link to some pictures:
Scary Mini-14, and not-as-scary (scroll down).

Get over it. Now I'm gonna go get me some new parts for my AR-15.

MSNBC - GlennReynolds.com

Check out the piece titled, "SEPTEMBER 11 REMEMBERED." Never thought I'd see a conservative (or less-than-liberal) op-ed piece on MSNBC.

"...fundamentalist Islamists had been making war on the United States for years, with the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole, the attacks on our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993 (which was intended to topple both towers, but failed), all the way back, in some sense, to the seizure of the U.S. embassy in Tehran back when Jimmy Carter was president. For all those years, they were at war with us, but we largely ignored it."
