E. City police to take aim with new Glock firearms

The guns carry a 15-round magazine and are guaranteed to last 60,000 shots.
Nice to see a police department with a practical attitude. Actually, most of the PDs around here are Glock-oriented. 60,000 rounds is a nice, conservative estimate. Heck, I'd pay a good price with one that only had that many rounds. I think my 17 has around 100,000 rounds by now, and I've never even replaced the springs on it. I think my mags need some, though.

Alert over fears of third attack

British Transport Police have been targeting specific ethnic groups for 'intelligence-led' stop-and-searches as part of their heightened security measures.
BTP Chief Constable Ian Johnston said that his officers would not 'waste time searching old white ladies'.
You know, the Brits may not be very "politically correct," but they'll damned sure get the job done.

There might be a very practical lesson to be learned here.

Air America fiasco

The silence is deafening. There's been a story brewing quietly under the radar concerning the left's last great hope in Air America. Short of some paltry coverage in the New York media, and a brief spot on CNN where the bulk of the time was spent trying to discredit the blogosphere's coverage of this fiasco, it's been damn quiet out there.

In case you haven't heard, and I'm betting your chances are pretty good you haven't:

"The Bronx News has learned, through informed sources, that the diversion of hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club in Co-op City to the liberal Air America Radio is at the center of the city’s probe of corruption at the local club.

The money, which was reportedly paid to Air America as a loan, was supposed to be paid back with interest, two unidentified informed sources told the News. One source added that Air America officials, led by an official of the Gloria Wise Club, agreed to help the local club by publicizing its activities.

To date, no indictments have been handed down in the New York City Department of Investigation’s ongoing probe of the Gloria Wise Club’s reported transfer of funds to Air America."

Now, considering that Rush has been getting the anal exam for his drug addiction I find it odd that good ole Air America "borrowing" money from the Boys and Girls club is a non-story. But oh yeah, I forget, there's no bias, right?

Two South Texas schools called "persistently dangerous"

But they have lots of sunshine there in South Texas.
Under federal guidelines, the Texas Education Agency must designate a school as persistently dangerous if it reported three or more mandatory expulsion incidents per one-thousand students in each of the previous three years.

Those incidents include the use or possession of a weapon on campus, arson, murder, sex crimes, aggravated assaults and felony drug and alcohol violations.

The schools are the W-A Todd Ninth Grade Campus in the Donna Independent School District and United South High School in Laredo's United Independent School District.
Ninth Grade Campus???

Carter: Guantanamo Detentions Disgraceful

This coming from the 2nd most disgraceful president other than Clinton? Carter's a joke. This is the same man who did nothing but sit on his hands while the United States of America was humiliated at the hands of a group of Iranian "students" - one of which looks likely to be the new thug in charge in Iran. Of course Carter dissaproves of taking action to protect the United States. Carter was an embarrassment of a president (who really thinks he would ever have been elected without the specter of Watergate hanging over the Repbulicans heads?) and he's an embarrassment now.

Springfield XD

I picked up a new carry gun a few weeks ago and thought I'd give a little report.

I've fired about 500 or so rounds through it and so far I'm pretty impressed. No jams or hang ups whatsoever. Considering the sights are pretty weak and not the usual Heinie's that I'm used to and they're 3 dots, which I hate - it's pretty accurate. Recoil about what you'd expect from a dinky 9mm - pretty mild.

I've yet to clean it, and I'll shoot her without cleaning till she pukes - and at current rates, that's going to be awhile.

Some high points - this weapon points naturally just like my beloved 1911s/2011s. Much unlike the Glocks which I always seem to be pointing a tad low with a natural point of aim. Breakdown is easier than a Glock, and you don't have to worry about holding your mouth just right to get the slide off the frame. Reloads with the XD also are a lot easier than with a Glock - the inside of the mag well has got nothing in there to catch your mag, unlike a Glock.

The trigger is similar to a Glock, in that it's got a pretty long pull. Unlike a Glock, the break of the trigger is pretty clean and not mushy at all.

All things said and done, I'm pretty happy with it!! I would have to say that this is the first pistol I've seen (so far) that can rival the Glocks for reliability, ease of operation, and cost.

Helen Thomas to take her own life

If Dick Cheney runs for President!!

Golly, if there wasn't a reason before to have Cheney run, then there is now!!!

REPORTER VOWS TO 'KILL SELF' IF CHENEY RUNS FOR PRESIDENT
Thu Jul 28 2005 15:32:13 ET

Veteran wire reporter Helen Thomas is vowing to 'kill herself' if Dick Cheney announces he is running for president.

The newspaper HILL first reported the startling claim on Thursday.

MORE

"The day Dick Cheney is going to run for president, I'll kill myself," she told the HILL. "All we need is one more liar."

Terrorism

Want a reason why we should get the hell out of the United Nations, and fast?

Check this out.

Their commisioner for human rights is more concerned with the human rights of the terrorists we fight, and that the counter terrorists don't violate the terrorist's or suspected terrorist's human rights, but somehow they don't seem all that concerned for the rights of the humans that the terrorists take.

Police Blotter

Honest folks. I couldn't make this stuff up.

"Instead, still holding the phone to his ear, the man turned and ran. The officer could hear the man yelling, “Mom, mom! They’re going to shoot me!” The man slipped on the wet pavement and fell down, still shouting to his mother on the phone. The officer took the phone and explained to the woman that her son was not being shot and that he could call her later from jail."

I'm sure the officers involved weren't laughing their asses off after this arrest.

And this description of a con man is classic:
" He described the suspect as “a big, fat, cross-eyed white guy with gray hair.”

WorldNetDaily: Will we defend ourselves?

Walter Williams is a pretty smart cookie:

"Regardless of how we feel now about the treatment of terrorists, and suspected terrorists, I can envision a day when Americans will care less about interrogation techniques used in the quest to get intelligence about terrorists. That day will be when there's a chemical or biological attack in one of our cities that kills and injures tens of thousands of Americans. If that day ever comes, you can bet the rent money that the Dick Durbins, the Nancy Pelosis and others who've undermined and attacked our interrogation efforts, complaining about our not treating international cutthroats humanely, will blame the attack on President Bush. The last thing they'll do is blame themselves for sabotaging our efforts to get intelligence that might stymie terrorist plans."

Jerusalem Post | Breaking News from Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish World

On the surface, this is starting to look like either a tragic accident or Darwin at work. The man killed by the police was seen leaving a suspected terrorist 'hideout'. He was wearing a thick coat in the middle of the summer. And he ran from the police into the subway system. The police "may" have screwed up. I think the jury is still out and we should wait for all the facts to emerge. But I don't think the dead guy did everything in his power to stay alive - like not run from the cops. Note to British Muslims: maybe when the cops give you a hard look, or ask you to stop and be searched you should comply if you want to get home to momma.

And again, the local muslim spokesman does nothing but whine about "poor pitiful me", and just can't seem to understand why anyone would look suspiciosly at someone who looked like he was from the middle east. I mean, really. Why would anyone look suspiciously at a group of people (young arabic men) when all they have done is bomb a bunch of buildings, planes, trains, automobiles and schools up in the last couple of years.

I heard ex New York police commissioner Kerek (sp?) today on the radio trying to explain that we're not 'racially' profiling - we're 'criminally' profiling. And guess what? Young to middle aged middle eastern men fit the profile.

I Understand Why

While I was driving through East Texas today, I was reminded of the black man that was chained to the back of a pick up and dragged to death in Jasper a few years back. It got me thinking of other violent acts against blacks that some say were racially motivated . After much thought I have concluded that these people have brought the attacks upon themselves. That's right, I said it. They had it coming. I'm not saying I agree with the attacks, I am just saying I think I understand them. Blacks dress disrespectfully with their pants pulled down showing their drawers. When they talk they use a dialect that is almost impossible to understand, and also use filthy language. They listen to music that degrades women and promotes violence and other behavior that is unacceptable in our society. They have also moved into our neighborhoods and occupy them. It's their culture that is to blame and the reason the attackers hate them. Taking all this into consideration it is no wonder why a group of people are attacking them every chance they get. Like I said, I don't condone it, but I am trying to understand it. After all, they themselves are to blame for the whirlwind which they now reap.
Does this sound absurd? Did you find it objectionable? I do and you should. It should also infuriate you when you hear the America hating, scumbag, maggot infested, dope smoking, hippie trash, or the Europeans, or Muslims that say the same thing when they are talking about their understanding of the terrorists and why they want to kill us.

Jane Fonda to Oppose Iraq War on Bus Tour

Title should read:
"Hanoi Jane at it again."

Story should read:
"Not content with being despised, loathed and spat upon by those who served in the Vietnam war, Hanoi Jane has taken it upon herself to be despised, loathed and spat upon by the current crop of heroes who are at this moment protecting Ms. Hanoi from islamists who would like nothing more than to cut off her head with a dull spoon. Ms. Hanoi plans to take a trip to the middle east to meet with the islamists in the mountains of Afghanistan to show her support for the oppressed indigenous people of the region. When asked if she'll cover her face and otherwise act in accordance with islamic law, Ms. Hanoi expressed surprise and stated that she was going to show up in full Barbarella attire. It will be interesting to see if she survives the trip, or if she can take another set of photo ops in anti-aircraft or perhaps this time inside a car rigged up to be a car bomb."

What a bitch. You'll note in the brief story that this is all about Ms. Hanoi. She could care less about our troops overseas or the fact that this war was brought to us.

There's No Place Like Home...

Lemme tell ya - there's nothing quite like Dulles International Airport on a Friday afternoon. Virtually every single flight was overbooked, and they were offering free tickets. Fortunately, my flight was the right size, and I actually got home a little early. However, United IS United, and it took almost 45 minutes for the luggage to show up.

The 20 Hamburgers You Must Eat Before You Die

10. Number FiveKeller's Drive-in Dallas

This guy can't be serious. Either he never actually ate at this place or he was under the influence of some mind altering drug when he did. I have eaten at Keller's hundreds of times since my Dad first threw me the keys to his Caddy and turned me lose to terrorize Dallas and burn all the rubber off the rear tires. Keller's is one of the few things in Dallas from a bygone era that hasn't been paved over and turned into a shopping mall or Starbuck's. It is an old style drive-in burger joint where you can hang out in the parking with your friends while eating and drink beer. The hamburgers are eatable. I'll even go as far to say they are good, but they aren't even the 10th best in Texas, let alone the nation. If you are in the Metroplex go over to Fort Worth and eat a burger at Kincaid's. It is the best I have ever had here or anywhere else for that matter.

Day 4 is Done...

Long day at the office.

Because of a basic misunderstanding by the whole team, we had some inventory issues with our business model. By the time we figured it all out, we were in year three, and it was too little, too late. We staged an awesome comeback, but it only netted us third place. in spite of leading in virtually every category from gross margins to revenue and cost of goods sold. Alas. There was consolation at the Black Olive.

Good Evening, and Welcome to Day 3

It was a nice day in DC today. A little muggy, no rain, plenty of sunshine. Not that I got to see any of it, but still appreciated. Long day, too. Started at 8am, just got back to the room about 10:30pm. We're doing a business simulation that pits teams against each other. We have to model a business based on everything from financials to sales force to manufacturing and everything else, and the information that we put into the model gets fed into a simulator. Tomorrow morning, we get to see how smart we are after 1 year. Then, we tweak the model, and simulate years 2 and 3. I was elected CEO of our fake company, which means I can play golf, and look good in front of the press while everyone else works. It's good to be the king.

Tomorrow starts at 7:30am, finishes at 7pm, then we have karaoke night at the Black Olive. woo hoo.

Gonna crash now. G'night.

Day 2 In Old Virginny

Yeah, so I didn't sleep so well last night. Turns out the AC works really well. I know that because of the frost. Thursday promises to be 101 degrees with 79% humidity. New Orleans isn't even that bad. WTF?

Nonetheless, the classroom was okay today. Lots of free snacks (spring rolls, granola bars, raisins, gummy bears) and coffee, juice, and fruit. Not enough coffee, because the classes go from 8am to 6pm. Ugh.

We had pretty much the whole class in the bar tonight, and had a pretty good pool tournament going. I lost track of who was buying beer. I bought a pitcher, but there were about 20 others. Only had my ass grabbed a couple of times, and I'm thinking it was girls, but I can't be for sure.

Eastern time sucks. Peace on you all. Good night.

"It’s happened before — sometimes a little kid will crap in the pool or something, "Duwel said."

NRA Pulls Convention Out of Columbus, Ohio

Excellent. This is how you hurt the anti-gunners. Let them know there are consequences for their idiotic actions. When the CHL law first passed here and Texas, and there was all sorts of talk about blood flowing freely in the streets, many local businesses decided they'd post notice that CHL holders and their weapons were not welcome. Many of us began carrying little biz cards that politely said that since our weapons were not welcome in their stores, we would not be spending any money with them. You'd be surprised how many of the stores pulled their notices down within a very short period of time.

The City Council in Columbus has now lost the tax revenue from 60,000 visitors to their fair city. I also have a trip this fall that was going to take me through Columbus. The City Council can now not count on collecting any tax dollars from me either as I've decided I'm going a different route. Piss on em.

Of course, the hit on Tancredo has already started by the CIAR crowd as expected but I still think something like this is worth considering. I am buoyed to see many of the 'moderate' muslim clerics in Europe denouncing terror and terrorists and can only hope that they rein in their problem children.

I'm trapped in a very small dorm-style room at the National Conference Center in Leesburg, Virginia. I'm here for a week-long training program for corporate managers for my corporate corporation. It's very...different. The NCC is a nice enough place, but I'm essentially trapped in the "compound," unless I want a shuttle to the outlet malls just outside Dulles airport. I don't. Great food, long days, and nothing to do basically describe the existence here. My room has approximately 80 square feet of luxurious living space, resplendent with 12 channels of cable TV, poorly running water, and crappy air conditioning. But the good news is that it's 94 degrees with 89% humidity, placing the temperature/humidity index somewhere around 153 degrees or so. I didn't know I had sweat glands in my ass.

For all 3 of our regular readers, I'd like to explain why the Tattler's been exhibiting flu-like symptoms.

I was the first kid in my neighborhood to get Verizon FiOS Service (that's fiber optic service for the uninitiated), which was an upgrade from my DSL service. An upgrade except for one thing: I had some extra disk space that I had purchased for use by this blog. I store this blog on my Verizon web space, see? When DSL was turned off, the extra space went away. After talking to the droids at Verizon, I figured that all out, and then bought some additional disk space.

Report cites 'degrading' Guantanamo treatment

Let's see, the worst of the gulag treatment the poor innocent little muslim terrorists are getting in Gitmo:
One fellow "was forced by interrogators in late 2002 to wear a bra and had women's thong underwear placed on his head."

But, oh, it gets so much worse!!!

"U.S. interrogators also told him he was a homosexual, forced him to dance with a male interrogator, told him his mother and sister were whores, forced him to wear a leash and perform dog tricks, menaced him with a dog and regularly subjected him to interrogations up to 20 hours a day for about two months, the report said."

Yep. That's surely to be compared to Hitler, Pol Pot, and Stalin. Yessirree.

Compared to what the detainees are doing to their gaurds, this is nada. Considering that they are throwing feces and urine; and are spitting on our troops, I'd think they would consider themselves lucky to be breathing.

Al-Qaida nukes already in U.S.

If this doesn't scare the crap out of you, I don't know what will.
The plans for the devastating nuclear attack on the U.S. have been under development for more than a decade. It is designed as a final deadly blow of defeat to the U.S., which is seen by al-Qaida and its allies as "the Great Satan."

But the most disturbing news is that high level U.S. officials now believe at least some of those weapons have been smuggled into the U.S. for use in the near future in major cities as part of this "American Hiroshima"

The future plan, according to captured al-Qaida agents and documents, suggests the attacks will take place simultaneously in major cities throughout the country – including New York, Boston, Washington, Las Vegas, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles.

"Terrorists have carte blanche to carry practically anything they want across our national line at this time," he said. "As ordinary citizens have warned this government for years, the only surprising part about the new information reported here is that nothing apocalyptic from Mexican-border weapons trafficking has yet happened.
Whether it's true or not, President Bush needs to shut our borders and start taking our security more serious. We need to stop worrying if we are going to hurt somebody's feelings because we are racially profiling towel heads, and stop the flood of illegals over our borders. The Patriot Act has done a great job, but we need to work harder to keep the bastards out and send the ones that are here back to where they belong.

Good news for America means bad news for the Left.
...an unexpected leap in tax revenue is about to shrink the federal budget deficit this year, by nearly $100 billion.
The big surprise has been in tax revenue, which is running nearly 15 percent higher than in 2004. Corporate tax revenue has soared about 40 percent, after languishing for four years, and individual tax revenue is up as well.

FOXNews.com - Views - ifeminists - The Right to Self-Defense

Very interesting read. Also a very confusing court opinion. "The police have no obligation to protect individuals who, therefore, should defend themselves."

So what this is saying is that we are all responsible for protecting ourselves and our families, but individual states are limited our ability by making gun ownership and carry unlawful. What? So the Police have no obligation to help you, but then the state gets to deny or restrict your access to a means for you to protect yourself. Seems like playing both sides of the fence to me.

Also worth noting, the author is a woman and from, are you ready for this, The Peoples Republic of Kalifornia. Which still has some very strict gun ownership laws. Somehow I'm thinking that this article won't get much recognition. But the message is clear, protect yourself and your family and don't rely on the police.

Never let the facts get in the way of making a good decision.

There's one definition for BB guns: dangerous

Hey, kid - you'll shoot yer eye out!

Seriously - how long have BB guns been around? They're a time-honored tradition. I've told the tale of my misspent youth, where we had BB gun wars. One of my friends still carries a BB in his side (with pride, I might add). We're raising a nation of sissies, and these people up north are trying to spoil it for everyone.
These guns need to be regulated because they are not toys and they are dangerous. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission requires warnings on the guns and recommended restriction labels for the more powerful ones.
Grow a set, people. It's a toy. What's lacking is supervision.

Hayden Gets His First MotoGP Win at the USGP!

I felt compelled to post this even if Dan and I are the only ones interested in it.
In 1989, I was just starting out roadracing motorcycles. I had no prior racing experience, and I started when a lot of people my age start thinking about hanging up the helmet. There was a family from Owensboro, Ky. that showed up at the track to race. Earl, the father is the nicest guy you could meet. His sons were very well mannered and polite kids. They had been flat track racing since age 5. They were being groomed to be World Champions. It was rumored that Earl had a forged birth certificate for Nicky, and now that we know he was born in 1981, we know he was actaully an eight year old, 4 years away from being the youngest you can be considered to get a provisional race licence. In 1989 we were racing YSR 50's. These are mini roadrace motorcycles. Nicky's feet couldn't touch the ground. He had to start at the back of the grid while Earl held the bike up and when he came into the pits, they had to be there to catch him. In 1990 we were at the YSR National Championships. I was unable to be there until Saturday and wasn't able to qualify so I let my good friend Damon Harvey take my Superbike and race it. Armed with the fasted YSR on the planet he won the Expert Class National Championship. It was tough being a spectator, but I enjoyed watching and was able to get a lot of video. I was taping Nicky and Tommy and asked Nicky what his goal for the future was. He said "I'm gonna be World Champion". I didn't think it was cute, or funny. I just thought that with that mindset and the fact Earl would do everything he could to get him the opportunity for a chance to compete for it, he just might do it.
He graduated to bigger bikes and ran the "D" Superbike class on a street version of the TZ250, a TZ-R. Then after making his climb up the ladder landed a ride on the Factory Honda AMA 750 Superbike. He won big including the Daytona 200. He then was promoted to the factory Honda MotoGP Team. This is the pinnacle of motorcycle racing. He won his first MotoGP race this weekend at the USGP at Laguna Seca. He got the hole shot and led every lap of the race. After the race, he stopped and got an American Flag then and made a victory lap. Then he picked up Earl and made another one. I can't tell you how proud I am for him and his family. Someone once wrote that the best thing about winning is finding out you can. Now that he has won at the highest level and beat Valentino Rossi, who is arguably the best ever, his next step is contending for the World Championship. I'm betting he get one before his career is over. Congratulations Nicky.

Liberalism today

Was listening to Hannity while washing the car today. Sean had a liberal author, Juliana _________, who just about made me want to jump through the radio waves and just choke her to death. Among other topics:

1. The chickens have come home to roost, as the United States is now getting paid back for 200 years of repression - against the American Indians and slaves; therefore, we deserve whatever the terrorists throw at us
2. American is not a "good" country - Hannity asked this lady the question "is America a good country?" Her silence was overwhelming
3. America is not fighting a just war
4. Bush is evil and out of control

There was more, but frankly I was so pissed off after listening to this buffoon speak that I was losing my ability to think rationally. I do not know how people like this can even wake up and get out of bed each morning in the United States of America and look at the world in the distorted way they do.

America (and the west in general) is not just fighting a war against the islamofascists. We are also fighting a fifth column that is working very hard to destroy us from within. I have no doubts that without the blogosphere and talk radio that we would indeed be back home with our tail between our legs already.

It makes me wonder what would have happened in WWII during battles like at the Bulge where 80,000 Americans were killed, wounded, or captured all in a matter of a few months. The Washington Post, the NYT and Dan Rather would have been running for cover, and the sky would have been falling indeed.

I still would like very much to smash this stupid woman's face in, but I'm getting over it.

Illegal aliens getting home loans

This is absolutely 100% insane. We are now giving home loans to known illegal aliens, "regardless of customers’ immigration status." All from our very own FDIC.

The Big Lie of the Assault Weapons Ban

The Big Lie of the Assault Weapons Ban

Hard to believe the LA Times would print something from John Lott, but here it is. And I'm sure Sarah Brady's head almost exploded when she read it. To think, violent crimes went down after the assault weapon ban ended. Read that again, crime went down.

It's a shame they couldn't put this much effort into something usefully, like actually arresting, convicting and incarcerating criminals. Just imagine the impact the Brady Bunch would have had on crime if it actually focused on CRIME, and not demonize guns.

London bombs terror attack The Times and Sunday Times Times Online

I can only hope that our cousins across the pond are not burdened by PC rules that say they can't profile middle eastern men.

Catfish's Cigar rating #1

As a public service, I'm going to start posting my own rankings of some quality cigars. First, the rules, such as they are:
1. Cigars for these tests will not cost more than ~ $10. Good enough for a great smoke, but affordable enough for us normal blokes to enjoy on a frequent basis.
2. The ratings will be on a * scale. 1* being the worst, and 5* being the best.
3. For reference, the only cigar I can rate at a 5* now is the Ashton #40.

Why cigars? Well, that's easy. Cigars smell and taste good, and more importantly, you can use a particular cigar to remember a good time with good friends and family. My grandfather smoked the occasional cigar, and I can't smoke a good cigar today without remembering what a great man my grandfather was, or the things we would do like go bass fishin', or working in the kitchen of his restaurant after closing time.
I've also had many a good smoke after a hard fought shooting match with my friends - a good smoke after a match is indeed something pleasant to look forward to, and something pleasant to remember.

Plus, they seem to have the ability to totally piss off liberals, and that all by itself would make it priceless.

So, straight to the first review:

Romeo and Julieta Maduro Reserve
Price - about $6
Size - robusto, maybe 36 gauge or so
Smoke time - 1.25 hours, down past the paper. I needed a roach to finish it off. Had I not been in a little bit of a hurry, this smoke would easily have lasted an hour and a half or more.
Rating - 4.5 * I'll be smoking another one, this was a great smoke. I really enjoyed the strong maduro flavor, and the ability to smoke her all the way down to the nub ranks pretty high in my book. The smoke drew easily, and was perfectly firm - not too hard, not too soft.

West Palm Beach gun owners trade in firearms at gun buyback

The futility and naivete of gun buyback programs never cease to amaze and amuse me. I'm at a loss as to who benefits from these things, save for the elderly who can make a few bucks from an old wall-hanger rifle. The police must know that they're not taking criminal's guns, but they keep facilitating these things, then look important by "cataloging and destroying" these dangerous antiques. City politicians assuage their own guilt for not really knowing what to do by doing something utterly ineffective. It's politics at its finest.
Overall, police collected 10 assault rifles, including one the owner said he found in the bushes. Assault weapons were worth $200; handguns were $100 and $75 for rifles and shotguns. There were no questions asked.
200 bucks for an assault weapon. I paid closer to $1000 for mine. Great plan, West Palm Beach. America should follow your model of ineffective, inefficient government.

Random Thoughts on 9/11, Terrorists, Liberals, and the War on Terror.

I had a lot of time to think while I was driving back in town today. I thought I would scattershoot on some thoughts I had on 9/11, the war and Liberals.
I was in Shreveport, La. today on business. I had an hour or so to kill before my next appointment, so I went to the air museum at Barksdale A.F.B. to have a look around. Outside they have several historic planes roped in on the lawn. You can pretty much walk right up to them just shy of arms reach. I spent a little time looking at each of them, but none were as impressive as the SR-71 Blackbird.
I went inside the building where they have little vignettes, each a display of a different era. I walked through them and near the end they had an exhibit of 9/11. They had the podium our President stood at when he addressed the country from Barksdale. On the podium was a computer screen that played a loop of his short speech. I must have stood there and watched it 5 times. Watching it again and listening to the words he spoke gave me a feeling of pride I cannot fully describe. He spoke of the cowardly aggression and that we would find the people responsible and they would be punished. He is truly the right man for this job. I shudder to think what direction we would have gone if Al Gore were the President. Another computer screen showed a slide show of both horrific images of the attack and the aftermath and the heroic acts of people trying to help. As I stood and watched this I was reminded how I felt that day. The anger, the fear and the sorrow returned like it happened yesterday. Those images should be shown often. The people that are starting to go soft and are tiring of the war on terror should see them again. It would probably strengthen their resolve. I know it does mine.
There are a few things the libs are saying these days that are just idiotic. One is the talking points where they state that Iraq is the new training ground for the terrorists. They would have you believe they are learning about urban warfare there so they can pull it off some place else later. This is such B.S. If having your ass kicked all over the desert is training then let them train. They don't need to go to Iraq to learn how to make a improvised explosive device (IED). That is the only thing they have had any luck with.
London has had it's share of people protesting America and England this week during the summit, but where are the protesters now? Why aren't they protesting the terrorists? These people sicken me. How can you witness what these terrorists did in London and not see they are truly the face of evil? They murder innocent men, women, and children in the name of religion. We are not talking collateral damage. They are the intended targets. The evil doers need to be hunted down and killed because they can't be reasoned with and you can't negotiate a peace settlement with them. All you need to do is look at Spain. They were attacked and voted out the party supporting the war. After pulling out of Iraq and no longer supporting the WOT, they were attacked again. The Islamists hate us for who we are and the freedom we enjoy and as long as we are around they will try to kill us.
As far as the war on terror is going, I think it has been a major success so far. The fact that they haven't been able to strike us here shows that. If they had been able to attack us again here at home they would. I won't diminish the attack in London. It was horrific, but the fact that all these animals can do is set off IED's of less than 10 pounds each shows they are not that strong right now. If they could have set off a dirty bomb or worse, they would in a heartbeat.
In closing I would like to say that the road ahead is a never ending battle between good and evil and we must triumph. The Liberals need to understand that we didn't start it, but we damn well better finish it, so support the troops and support the President and shut the F&#@ up. The terrorist need to understand that a few bombs let off is only going to piss us off more and strengthen our resolve.

TheIndyChannel.com - News - Parade Float Depicting Bin Laden Sparks Debate

Hey, Kathy - you're an idiot!! Here's a question for you:

If this float is pure hate, then what would you call flying two planes into the WTC??
Don't be a moron.

As for Tarek - I really don't give a shee-it if you were offended by it. I am offended daily by your fellow peace loving Muslims refusing to call out the terrorists among you. I am offended by your fellow Muslims blowing up innocent people on their way to work. I am offended by your poor pitiful me attitude. If you don't like the float because it hurt your muslim sensibilities, that's just too damn bad. Maybe you can go talk to a shrink about your pathetic self-image.

Arabs fear backlash after London bombings

Get off the waambulance. You'll note they don't feel sorry for the innocent people who were murdered on their way to work. They feel sorry for themselves because now there will be an anti-Arab backlash.

The results mentioned in this article are mixed - some of the arabs condem the act, and the rest welcome it or say it was brought upon the British due to their involvement in Iraq and the WOT.

For those that say the west created Osama and the attacks - pray tell what the west did to islam in 1529 and 1683 when they laid siege to Vienna? What did the west do to islam in 711 when they invaded Spain?

I may not be very good at math, but I do believe that both of those events took place well before the United States gave its support to Israel, or England supported the United States in Iraq. Islam has agressively expanded since it's creation, regardless of how nice it's neighbors were. Yeah, if you were/are willing to live in dhimmitude, then you could manage to live under islamic law. But strangely that sounds a lot like slavery to me.

What did the United States do to islam in 1979 when the Iranians chanting "death to America" took captive American hostages.

What did the United States do to islam in 1983 when 17 were killed at the US embassy in Beirut?

What did the United States do to islam in 1983 when 241 Marines were killed in their barracks in Beirut?

What did the United States do to islam again in 1983 when 5 were killed at the US embassy in Kuwait?

What did the United States do to islam in 1984 when 18 were killed at a US airbase in Spain?

What did the United States do to islam in 1993 when two CIA staff were executed in front of the CIA headquarters in Langley?

What did the United States do to islam in 1995-96 when 24 were killed in Saudi Arabia?

What did the United States do to islam in 1998 when 224 were killed in the US embassies in Africa?

What did the United States do to islam in Yemen when the USS Cole was blown up in 2000? This attack even came after the United States spent billions upon billions of dollars ending the ethnic cleansing in Kosovo where MUSLIMS were being slaughtered by the Serbs.

I'll tell you what the United States did since about the 70s:

We spent billions upon billions upon billions of our dollars ANNUALLY to try and make the Middle East a better place for it's people to live.

We, and the other Western powers, built, maintained, and managed the Saudi oil machine bringing untold trillions of dollars into the Middle Eastern economy.

We stopped genocide against Muslims in Kosovo.

Yeah, looks to me like we earned the animosity of the Muslim world.

Far as I'm concerned, they can kiss my arse.

In London, uninjured singer Omarion seeks prayers

This is probably one of the stupidest, most selfish people on the planet. This 20-year-old jackass was in London on 7/7, and he wants his fans to pray for him. Was he injured? No. Was he inconvenienced in any way? No. Was he one of the bombers? No. Was he in the movie "You Got Served?" Yes.

What a self-serving prick.
Making no mention of the fatalities or casualties of the blasts, the singer's statement concluded, "He would like his fans to pray that he has a safe trip and a safe return home. He appreciates your support."
He was merely in London, and I guess people didn't know and/or didn't care. I still don't care.

WE ARE ALL INFIDELS!

From This Blog is Full of Crap:
And deep in the heart of every true Muslim, one that follows the word of Allah as spoken by Muhammed to the letter, they want us dead or gone.
It's the ones who don't follow the teachings strictly and have assimilated who show any sense of tolerance, understanding, or compromise. They are the ones who we should tolerate.
Because the hardcore ones want them dead too. Although if they side with them instead of us, we've got an even bigger problem.
Get that through your skull, people, or you may find your skull in a different zipcode from the rest of you one day. Maybe in that mythical Bridge to Paradise built from the skulls of slain infidels you hear about on Gaza and Saudi television every so often.
Tolerance is a good thing. Putting up with murderous insane shit is a whole other story.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: we are at war with the Islamists. Deny it all you want, tell me how wrong it is to say that, but the fact remains that they continue to take the fight to us. They believe that they have a moral imperative to kill the infidel. They are heartless murderers who kill non-combatants (including women and children) in their homes, and not only do they not care, they revel and rejoice in this murder and mayhem. I may be an infidel, but at least I'm not an animal.

I like this site. This link is to a great collection of quotes that will help you in determining where certain people stand. You might be surprised at some of them, and you'll be amused at a lot of them. Others are just good.
"This is an enemy [the Jihadi terrorists] that refuses to observe any conventions, treaties or rules of warfare. They lie, cheat and violate agreements. They slice off heads like raw meat. They murder women and children. They fly airplanes into buildings. But we're the bad guys." -- Oliver North
"When the federal assault-weapons ban expired last September, its fans claimed that gun crimes and police killings would surge. Sarah Brady, one of the nation's leading gun-control advocates, warned, 'Our streets are going to be filled with AK-47s and Uzis.' Well, over eight months have gone by, and the only casualty has been gun-controllers' credibility. Letting the law expire only showed its uselessness." -- John Lott, Jr.

U.S. resumes Afghan search after SEAL rescued - South and Central Asia - MSNBC.com

Anyone want to take a bet that the rescued SEAL didn't eat politically correct meals, prepared special for his dietary needs; wasn't given the opportunity to pray if he saw fit, according to his religion; and wasn't given 1 hour of exercise in a state of the art facility during his captivity?

Glad he's back among friends and prayers out for his comrades still behind enemy lines.

As an aside, was thinking this 4th of July morning that the war's been raging since 2001. How many Hollywood movies, tv shows, mini series etc have been made featuring the war? Doesn't it strike you as odd that the same institution that can't wait one year to give us a tv show on the Scott Peterson fiasco has gone 4 years with nary a peep about the ongoing WOT?

"Astonishingly, he claimed America did not need to give any more to beating poverty as individuals were so generous at charity. Mr Bush has refused to meet the goal of raising aid to 0.7 per cent of America's gross income"

Newsflash! How many BILLIONS of dollars has the United States poured into Africa? Right down the drain.

Astonishingly, you are too big of an idiot to realize that pouring money into a problem is not the answer. As I said earlier this weekend, until the people of Africa embrace democracy, capitalism, and lose the over-bearing corruption that runs rampant through most of their governments, it's not going to change a thing. Have you long haired maggot infested hippies ever given thought that by pouring money into corrupt governments is only making them more powerful?

Speaking of pouring money into a problem - how much of the Billions of dollars that were donated to the Tsunami relief earlier this year have made it to the people? Practically none. Why? Because the aid organizations and the governments in the area can't agree on how to spend the money. Gee, I wonder how many people have starved there? I'm sure it's George Bush's fault.

Happy Birthday America!

Read it.

but we're losing!
It's a quagmire!!

Sky News : 'World Is Beginning To Demand More Action'

When will the hippies of the world learn that you don't fix something by throwing money at it?

To make a shooting analogy:

There are guys (and girls) that spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on their equipment. But they still suck. Because they don't take the time to change internally, to practice, to learn. That $2000 pistol will save them 5 seconds a stage in their mind, but in the end, they are the same shooter they were before they spent the money and their results haven't changed one bit.

Throwing money at "poverty" is giving us exactly the same result. How much have we spent on poverty in the United States since LBJ's War on Poverty? And golly, there are still poor people in America. Granted, they are the richest poor in the world, but there are still obviously "poor" people in the United States.

Now, until the countries of Africa come into the 21st century, adopt a free market economy and democracy, and lose the corrupt leaders that seem to always rise to the top, they are going to stay a large part of the 3rd world. No matter how much money Bono throws at it.
