Mexican army's poorer weapons may have cost it Texas

I read this article today and wanted to revisit the subject of the Battle of San Jacinto. This article is about a Texas high school teacher's hypothesis that Santa Anna's men were outgunned by General Sam Houston's men and their weapon of choice, The American Kentucky Rifle. It's pretty interesting. I also included a link below for more information on the Kentucky Rifle.
There were Springfields in Houston's army, muskets of various manufacture, maybe even a few Brown Besses. But the vast majority, probably over 500, carried the weapon of choice — the American Kentucky rifle."
