Reuters withdraws all photos by Lebanese freelance

After finding that two photographs that were posted by a Lebanese photographer that put the terrorists in a positive light and the Israelis in a negative light, Reuters pulls every photograph in its database by this so called "photo journalist".

Good for them - I think that's a step in the right direction. It's also called closing the barn door after the horse got out.

The one burning question that I have after learning of this is simple:

Has the news media been manipulating doctored photographs forever, all the while claiming they are "objective"? Is this a case that they are only now getting caught?

I mean, think of the impact that famous photographs have had on the national conscience. Think of the photographs that turned the American people against the war in Vietnam. How many of them were doctored to give a particular spin?

More and more the media needs to be put back in its place because what I know now is that they are failing us terribly.
