Historical Images of Mohammed

Interesting. Just when we've all been told ad nauseum that the whole reason muslims are rioting across the world is because it's a mortal sin to depict Mohammed in any images.

Yet here you can find historical images of Mohammed going back several hundred years, up to and including the cartoons causing the current state of war and rioting.

Another interesting tidbit that's making its way across the blogosphere is that perhaps there are some imams to blame for the entire thing:

"Furthermore, when a delegation of Danish imams went to the Middle East to discuss the issue of the cartoons with senior officials and prominent Islamic scholars, the imams openly distributed a booklet that showed not only the original 12 cartoons, but three fraudulent anti-Mohammed depictions that were much more offensive than the ones published in Denmark. It is now thought that these three bonus images are what ignited the outrage in the Muslim world. The newspaper Ekstra Bladet obtained a copy of the booklet and presented the three offensive images on its Web site (though not in an easy-to-find place). All look like low-quality photocopies. "

Now, wouldn't that be interesting if these riots have been staged from the very beginning.

I think it's fairly well known that these cartoons were first published last year in September. Why the riots now? Almost makes you wonder if there's something going on that no one is paying attention to.... But that's just me being paranoid.
