Once more, Mikey Moore proves what a moron he is. I once thought that someone ought to just smack the sh!t out of him, but the more he talks, the more we can see what kind of moron he is.
"This week, in an appearance leading up to his arrival here Wednesday night, Bush acknowledged he had miscalculated what would happen in Iraq after he invaded it. He had thought it was going to be much easier. It turned out to be much, much worse."
Yes, we have almost had 1,000 precious American lives lost. 1 is too many. But a little historical perspective, Mikey - during WWII, there were thousands of American lives lost daily in some of the major battles of the war - Okinawa, Peliliu, Bastogne, Normandy, etc. Daily. Saddam will no longer be a threat to peace in the Middle East, he will no longer be threatening his neighbors, he will no longer be pursuing WMD's, and he will no longer be a threat to the United States of America.
"Let's hope he isn't getting his inspiration from Richard Nixon, the same man Arnold Schwarzenegger hailed Tuesday night as his reason for becoming a Republican. You have to give Arnold an award for guts. He must be the first Republican convention speaker to mention Nixon since he resigned. Nixon snuck into office in 1968 with his secret plan to end the Vietnam War. Another miscalculation: The war continued for years, and thousands more died."
Last time I checked, Mikey, Nixon was responsible for pulling the American forces out of Vietnam. And let me see, wasn't that a Democrat in JFK (the first one), that put troops into Vietnam, and wasn't that a Democrat in LBJ that dramatically raised the war and created the political quagmire that became Vietnam? Perhaps you should try to read up on some history, Mikey.

Moore is as shrill and irritating as Sarah Brady, Ted Kennedy, Diane Feinstein and any 10 fingernails on a chalkboard put together.
What a pathetic diatribe. Yes, one American life is far too many for the likes of an un-American traitor like you, Michael Moore. You're an embarrassment and a cancer on our society - the type of person that American soldiers have died to protect. You should be ashamed to open your mouth any more than you have. You've shamed your family, your country, and your legacy as an American. True American men and women have fought and DIED to protect your RIGHT to be such an asshole. Sleep well tonight.
And who did support the Ba'aath regime in overthrowing the Sjah? mhmm?
And who did send weapons to Iran once Saddam did 'not play by the rules' mhmm?
"History is a lie that they teach you at school" is the first sentence of the chorus of one of the songs by Living Colour. The USA has got a very parculiar perspective on recent history they made for all the wrong reasons.
well, yes, we did support the Ba'aathist regime at one time. It's called realpolitik, Mr. Anonymous.
Times change.
Have we made all the right decisions in the past 50 years?? I think not. But can you honestly tell me that the world is worse off?? Sprechenze Duetche, mein Herr? Or Japanese?? Or, for that matter, do you still worry that the might of the Soviet army is going to go pouring through the Fulda Gap? Are you worried about Soviet weapons raining down on your fair cities?? I think not.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way. Saavy?
You see, this is the curse of the United States. If we do nothing, crybabies whine that we've let millions die in misery across the world for sitting on our side of the pond and doing nada. If we do anything, the same crybabies say we're being bullies, oppressing the members of the 3rd world.
You can't have it both ways, good sir.
Well, so you still think there is A + B = C connection to 9/11 and Saddam Hussein...even, after all these months?? Incredulous! We have 2 precious soldiers in our family over there in Iraq, 15 months, and their lives are more worthy than the Lies of this President. Is it your opinion then, my loved ones should risk their lives so you can have an opinion, even if your opinion is dead wrong?
Would you stand so solidly on your opinion that you would go over to Iraq to prove the President did the right thing? Or send your loved ones? Do you want to be the one who asks a soldier to be the last person to Die for a Lie? Who in Congress and Administration has any of their loved ones committed to Iraq? Maybe it wouldn't hurt for you to open your eyes a tiny bit and view Farenheit 9/11, then state your opinion after seeing it, as it reflects a hard truth that apparantly 1/2 this country doesn't want to hear.
I had to go back and read my original comments - as you apparently have not, madame wonderwander. Niether I nor President Bush have EVER said Iraq was responsible for 9/11. What we have said is that Iraq and Osama had a working relatioship. And that relationship was too dangerous to allow to go unchecked. Saddam also had a relationship with the PLO/Hamas/Hezbollah. Do you realize he was subsidizing the families of suicide bombers?? I'm sure that in your never never fantasy world, that never really happened because Mikey Moore somehow conveinently forgot to point that out in his movie. Just like he forgot to point out the training facilities in Iraq that terrorists were being trained at in Salman Pak - you know, the one where they had an airplane fuselage? Saddam was a sponsor of world terrorism and had to be removed. Hopefully, that was only a start. The war was a lie?? How's that?? Every single claim that Bush made in his speech outlining the reasons for going to war have proven true - Iraq WAS trying to buy uranium in Africa; Iraq WAS training terrorists; and Iraq DID have WMD's. There are at least two articles on this blog linking to that - one stated American troops found an IED that contained sarin, and the other that stated Polish troops purchased a supply of sarin that a group of terrorists were trying to get a hold of. Yeah, I know that you really didn't want to hear that because it's easier for you to sit there and lament over your own personal issues. Thank God that the people of my grandparent's generation didn't sit at home and twist their hands during WWII in the manner in which you are doing now.
Kudos to the members of your family who are serving overseas. My prayers are with them, and the other brave men and women who serve by their side. I'm sure they're happy to hear you bitching about what an unrighteous war they're fighting. You go girl. My father, who served in Vietnam, once got a letter from his sister, who called him a baby killer, and hoped that he would get killed. (I'm sure your man Kerry had no effect on that when he returned from Vietnam and instantly started bashing the very men he served with) The anti-war movement was just as destructive then as it is now. Way to support that. I'm sure your family members appreciate it.
And, I surely hate to be the one that points this out to you, but the last time I checked, we had an all volunteer army. No draft, in other words. Which means that your family members, bless their hearts, joined the military of their own free will. Maybe you thought that all they would do is practice playing war stateside, but from what I know of the vast majority of folks over there - they want to be there. Yep, it sucks to be away from home but the guys that I know that are over there are there because they want to be.
Yes, I would send a loved one overseas in a heartbeat if asked. Same for myself. IF you think that the kids that are dying overseas don't weigh heavily on the administration, you're not paying enough attention. Look into W's eyes when he talks about it and read about the things he's done for the wounded kids who come back. Or would that upset your own myopic world view?
I like to get my facts from legitimate sources, and Mikey Moore damn sure ain't one of them. Between Bowling for Columbine and Farenheit 9/11, he has spewed more distortions and more lies to the weak minded sheeple of our country that it makes you sick to think about it.
I'll keep your family members in my thouhts - but I really couldn't give a shit about your own sensabilities until you can learn to think for yourself and stop spewing the liberal mantras of the day. Grow a brain and let me know when you do.
