Again?

In this image from Reuters, the caption reads: "U.S. President Barack Obama (L) greets China's President Hu Jintao at the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, April 12, 2010."

I guess by greets, they really meant to say grovel. Seriously. Is there anyone this embarrassment of a president won't bow to? You'll note, of course, there is no reciprocal bow from the Chinese President...

More idiocy

Earlier this week, we were treated to video of a Democrat Congressman implying that additional Marines on the island of Guam would make the island tip over.

Today I've run across a video of another Democrat Congressman stating, on one hand that he doesn't care what the Constitution says about health care and on the other, confusing the Declaration of Independence with the US Constitution.

You know, I don't expect our lawmakers to be rocket scientists. But I would like to think that they are somehow doing more than just stealing my oxygen, as these two asshats obviously are.

Is it too much to ask for to have our lawmakers have something that even remotely resembles a brain?

Oh yeah, baby

The pacifier party

Once again, the dems running our country into the ground go into full panic mode because people are pissed off about the passage of the health care fiasco. They prove, yet again, that dissent is not allowed as long as a democrat is running the show.

We've already seen that if you disagree with the chosen one, then you are obviously a racist. If you disagree with health care reform, you're dangerous and threatening to Democrat lawmakers.

One of the stupidest and over-rated columnists I've ever seen in my life, Paul Krugman, is lamenting about the poor state of affairs. I was going to spend some time disagreeing with the dumbass, but the guys at Powerline do a better job of it here.

Michelle Malkin has done a great job in documenting all of the hatred that gets spewed from leftists in this country yet somehow gets ignored... So just remember that the dems are nothing but a bunch of lying, thieving hypocrites who are intent on maintaining power as long as they possibly can.

Rocking the VTAC

Picked up a very nice VTAC AR a bit ago and FINALLY had time to shoot it today. SWEEET rifle.

Felt bad for JR and let him shoot it as well. LOL.

S&W did a helluva job putting this rifle together!!

I guess

that everyone wasn't nearly pissed off enough with the Obama administration...

Obama looking to give new life to immigration reform

The basis of a bill would include a path toward citizenship for the 10.8 million people living in the U.S. illegally. Citizenship would not be granted lightly, the White House said. Undocumented workers would need to register, pay taxes and pay a penalty for violating the law. Failure to comply might result in deportation.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people? I guess they figure last summer's Tea Parties weren't quite bad enough politically for them, because if they thought that was bad, let's try amnesty this summer.

That pesky global warming

Global warming strikes yet again, trapping over 50 vessels in the ice...

More than 50 ships, including large ferries reportedly carrying thousands of passengers, were stuck in ice in the Baltic Sea Thursday evening, and many were not likely to be freed for hours, Swedish maritime authorities said.

Happy Birthday Texas

Pretty nice day when a Texas Senator reads Travis' letter on the floor of the Senate.

Gun Safety

I met some of my good shooting friends at the local private gun range yesterday for a little practice. As a member of the club, I've got access (on a first-come, first-served basis) to a number of bays. You can drive your car down to the bays and park there, which is convenient. While it's a private club, you have folks there who are casual shooters at best, and we've learned through experience not to assume that membership implies competence.

We got our range bags out and followed protocol on un-bagging and holstering our firearms, with one or more of us supervising each other. I think everyone there was a certified range officer. You can't be too safe, ya know?

In the next bay, the one on the end, a white SUV pulled up, and 3 guys got out, one of them older than the other two. The older guy was the club member, it turns out. We didn't pay much attention, but commented to each other to keep an eye out, until we had a feel for their gun-handling skills.

We got a pretty good feel rather quickly.

Attending to our business, we heard a "bang," followed by some deafening silence. We looked over and saw 3 very surprised faces at the tailgate of the SUV. We asked if everyone was okay twice, with no response. I walked over, and asked again. They replied in the affirmative.

The guilty party was standing there with what looked like a Keltec POS in .22 or .25, and he said, "I was unloading the gun." I replied that he had certainly accomplished removing one round from the gun, so let's see what's left, safely. The mag was still in, so I instructed him to remove that, then show me a clear gun, then pull the trigger, then bag the gun.

I asked where the hole was, and he pointed to the deck that covers the spare tire, which likely suffered a mortal injury. I can only assume the gas tank wasn't punctured, too.

I actually had to explain to this club member that we don't handle firearms in our cars at this club. Use the safe area - there's consideration for people who don't know how to handle firearms there, so if you DO have an accidental/negligent discharge, it's in a controlled environment, and hopefully nobody or nothing gets perforated in the process.

I don't know what responsibility, if any, I have as a member of that club to tell this guy to put his stuff away and come back when he knew what he was doing, so I just urged him to do the right thing, mind his muzzle and trigger, and don't shoot any of us. If it had been me, I'd have been too embarrassed to stay, but unbelievably, he stayed. Not only that, but I saw him explaining gun safety to the 2 others with him.

Moral of the story? Rather than the obvious gun safety lesson which, no matter how many times is repeated, is lost on so many people, I'd rather provide this advice: any time you're at a gun range with other people you don't know (and sometimes, when you are), don't assume that you won't get shot. Some stupid people own firearms, and don't know the first thing about safety. They're not mean or malicious, they're just ignorant. This can create a very dangerous situation. Don't feel bad about ratting out bad gun discipline to the local range officers. Don't enable bad behaviors at the range.

Do as I say, not as I do

Appears to be the common mantra for the wanna be royalty running the White House these days.

Despite continuing to excoriate the banks for extravagant bonuses, the Government (read, the Obama administration), has approved a $9 Million pay package for the CEO of GM.

Considering that the new CEO had absolutely no experience in the auto industry prior to being placed in charge of the failing GM - perhaps it's a smart move to hire the OLD CEO as an adviser.
In a surprise announcement, GM also said former CEO Fritz Henderson has been rehired as a consultant. Henderson, who was forced out of the job in December, will work 20 hours a month and will be paid $59,090 a month, the company said.
Think about that for a minute, folks. The same administration who has set up a pay czar to make sure that executive compensation is not out of line is now paying the person they ousted nearly $60,000 a month for working a whopping 20 hours.

And oh yes, speaking of the pay czar....
Whitacre's pay package exceeds the limits imposed on companies that have received U.S. government aid, but the an exemption was worked out with government pay czar Kenneth Feinberg, GM said.
I wonder how many exemptions were given to Toyota? But I guess that since the US government doesn't own Toyota, we won't be seeing any special privileges, will we?

Because to this administration, everyone is equal, some are just more equal than others.

US, Allies Tell Taliban About Offensive

Dear God.

This
is what happens when liberals micromanage the military. Clearly, the hope is that the mere threat of using force will be enough to scare the taliban turds away (not likely). Welcome to the new, touchy feely warfighting brought to you by a kinder, gentler United States.

I hope you all feel safer now.

Really?

I mean, REALLY? Does Time magazine REALLY think that we are this stupid? Take note of this wonderful headline: D.C. Snowstorm: How Global Warming Makes Blizzards Worse

You can not make this stuff up my friends. The good folks at Time magazine try to tell us what we are seeing isn't really what we are seeing.

The 2009 U.S. Climate Impacts Report found that large-scale cold-weather storm systems have gradually tracked to the north in the U.S. over the past 50 years. While the frequency of storms in the middle latitudes has decreased as the climate has warmed, the intensity of those storms has increased. That's in part because of global warming - hotter air can hold more moisture, so when a storm gathers it can unleash massive amounts of snow. Colder air, by contrast, is drier; if we were in a truly vicious cold snap, like the one that occurred over much of the East Coast during parts of January, we would be unlikely to see heavy snowfall.

I find it most unusual that the same dimwit that tries to convince us that record cold temps and record snowfall don't mean that the world is cooling; on the contrary, it's supposed to mean that the world is actually warming up..... the DIQ (Dimwit in Question) makes no mention whatsoever of last fall's Climategate scandal. A scandal that continues to grow - despite a media that is dead set on ignoring the story.

All I can say to the DIQ is that if you really believe the ongoing blizzards across the United States are a result of global warming, I have a bridge in San Francisco I'd like to sell you.

Super Bowl XLIV - 2010

I'd be remiss and untrue to my heritage as a member of a multi-generation New Orleans family if I didn't chime in with my observations on this Super Bowl.

People need to understand that the New Orleans football fan is a long-suffering person, one who has tolerated some of the most embarrassing teams in NFL history, including ones led by Archie Manning, father of the Colt's quarterback. New Orleans is a hard place to be an athlete. You can't buy a beer or a meal in NOLA if you play for the Saints, and you're quite the local celebrity. People know how to party, and I suspect it's tough for a professional athlete to maintain top condition given the environment.Let's face it - if you were drafted into the NFL, there would have been a lot worse places to live than New Orleans, am I right?

But something's different this year. I think this game will come down to who wants it more. I keep hearing all the prognostication about how Indianapolis will run roughshod over the hapless, inexperienced Saints. Let's keep this in perspective, because I don't think New Orleans will just lay down. They suffered a string of defeats late in the season, one most notably at the hands of the Cowboys. But they came back with a vengeance, and went toe-to-toe with that old guy and the Vikings. Yeah, it was as close as you can get, but they prevailed.

Truth be told, I just hope it's a good game, and I hope the Saints make the people of New Orleans proud.

Who dat?

Catching up

I was lambasted by a buddy at work that the Tattler hadn't been updated in awhile... so here you go:

The winter of 2009-10 is the winter that killed the fear of man-made global warming. At least, killed it with anyone who has a brain. A seemingly never ending winter continues to wreak havoc across the country. Hell, they're even giving Dallas a chance of snow again on Monday...

The government continues to bully Toyota. I'm sure that the fact that the government owns GM - a major competitor of Toyota - has nothing to do with it.

Iran has promised that on February 11, they'll let us all see just how much of a nuclear power they have become. We have responded by sending Patriot missile batteries into the Gulf... With the messiah in charge, I hope he knows what to do when the phone rings at 3 in the morning. In a similar vein, the CIA and other National Security agencies are warning us to expect a terrorist attack in the United States in the next 3-6 months. However, by and large, the media is silent on it and we're told to move along, nothing to see...

The Obama presidency continues to be the worst presidency in recent history. So far, he's failed on everything - Olympic games in Chicago? Climate change legislation from Copenhagen? Health Care? Unemployment? Virginia? New Jersey? And for God's sake, Massachusetts?

These mind boggling failures are only what I can recall off the top of my head at the end of a long day. The messiah has failed at everything he's pushed for. Every. Single. Thing. And the telling blow can be found here.

That should catch us up to date for the time being, more to come later ....

GOP's Brown wins Mass. Senate seat in epic upset

Holeee Sheeit.

I rather hoped that Brown would win, but didn't really think it was possible in, of all places - Massachusetts.

Wow.

Shot heard 'round the world indeed.

Now that would make me laugh

It would appear that the Democrat party is in free fall and in a major panic. And I cannot tell you how hard I would laugh if the chosen one failed, yet again, to get another loser Democrat elected....

13 January 2010

Thugs

Once again, Nazi tactics utilized by the democrat party. Long story short, a documented journalist asking pesky questions to the democrat running for the open Senate seat in Massachusetts. Instead of answering the questions, the reporter is harassed and apparently knocked down by one of the candidates' entourage.

Watching the video and being objective, I cannot honestly tell what knocked the reporter down. You can see the democrat thug moving towards him right before he falls, but I can't tell from this video if the guy tripped on his own or was pushed.

What IS clear, however, is that the democrat thug clearly impedes the reporter's progress and clearly harasses him in an attempt to keep the reporter away from the candidate after the fall. By itself, that is clearly bad enough, and clearly evident of the same tactics used by Nazi thugs in the 30s to anyone asking pesky questions of uncle Adolph. If it does turn out that the thug knocked the guy down as well, that's simply not acceptable - and about what you would expect from today's democrat party.
