I sincerely appreciate you joining us at Fort Hood, Texas, last week for the memorial ceremony honoring the victims of the horrific November 5 attack. Thank you for your participation and your moving, heartfelt words. In the wake of this massacre, my prayers remain with the fallen, the injured, and their families, as I know yours do.

I look forward to questioning Attorney General Holder on Wednesday about the role that federal law enforcement agencies played in this particular case, as well as what actions they are taking to prevent radical Islam from finding a home in the U.S. Armed Forces. The federal government has a fundamental duty to our men and women in uniform to safeguard them against avoidable harm in the course of their service. We must protect the protectors whenever and wherever we are able, especially at home in the United States. Our government failed the brave Americans who were killed and wounded at Fort Hood. The devastation inflicted on them was preventable, and it is of paramount importance that we ascertain exactly where the system broke down.

The question of how this could ever happen on U.S. soil must be answered as soon as possible, so as to foreclose the possibility of future attacks of this nature. I understand that a myriad of investigations are underway, and I appreciate the importance of ascertaining the facts before making any judgments. Nonetheless, it seems increasingly likely that Islamist terrorism is to blame for this senseless attack. I was pleased that you alluded to this in your remarks at Fort Hood, stating that, “no faith justifies these murderous and craven acts; no just and loving God looks upon them with favor.” I could not agree more.

Islamist terrorism represents one of the single most dangerous threats to the national security of the United States. As you know, this enemy seeks the complete and total destruction of our nation, our government, and our entire American way of life. As the 9/11 Commission stated in its report, “The enemy is not just ‘terrorism.’ It is the threat posed specifically by Islamist terrorism, by Bin Ladin and others who draw on a long tradition of extreme intolerance within a minority strain of Islam that does not distinguish politics from religion, and distorts both.”

Al Qaeda, in a 1998 fatwa signed by its leaders, Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri, instructed that: “to kill the Americans and their allies—civilian and military—is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it . . . .” Similarly, in a 2006 propaganda video, al Qaeda specifically urged viewers to "go on a shooting spree” at a key military installation. As more and more facts surrounding the Fort Hood attack surface, it looks increasingly probable that the alleged attacker, Major Nidal Hasan, heeded these terrorist calls to violence, compelled by a fanatical religious ideology. If Islamist terrorism was the driving force behind the senseless violence at Fort Hood, as it seems to be, this attack must serve as a call to action for the Federal Government.

The Fort Hood mass murder would not be the first time our service members have been violently assaulted from within their own ranks by an individual driven to act primarily by his religious ideology. As you may know, on March 23, 2003, during the initial phase of Operation Iraqi Freedom, an Army Sergeant named Hasan Akbar attacked his fellow service members in Kuwait with grenades and small arms, murdering two of them and wounding more than a dozen others. Akbar’s diary passages illustrated a strong religious motivation behind his actions: "I will have to decide to kill my Muslim brothers fighting for Saddam Hussein or my battle buddies. . . . I may not have killed any Muslims, but being in the Army is the same thing. I may have to make a choice very soon on who to kill."

We must not blame Islam as a whole for this attack or others of its kind; yet at the same time, we cannot ignore the indisputable fact that some followers of Islam interpret their religion’s scriptures and teachings as a mandate for the mass murder of innocents. Evidence indicating that terrorist activity may be in the offing must always be run to ground; federal agencies must follow every lead and look into every possible threat, regardless of whose particular sensitivities might be offended in the process. We must never allow the safety of those who defend our freedom to be made a secondary priority to political correctness.

A trial that lasts years, that creates yet another target in New York City, and could eventually let the scumbags loose? You do not win wars against terrorists by treating them as criminals with their due rights. You hunt them down and kill them without mercy, without compassion and as an example to any wanna be terrorist scumbag. Mark my words. This will not end well.

If you managed to not have your head explode over THAT bombshell - get this: the messiah doesn't want Congress investigating the Ft. Hood shooter. Odd, I think. For one, you've got a Democrat Congress in your back pocket. You've got a news media that by and large is your lapdog. So why wouldn't you want Congress investigating? Don't give me the rubbish about wanting the investigation to run its course. I'm sure we all recall the rush to judgment by the president when one of his buddies got busted by the Princeton PD.... Something tells me that the president is well aware of the shooter's past history with jihadi sympathizers, imams - and not to mention the president's own transition team.... The messiah doesn't want Congress to investigate because he knows Congress can't keep a secret to save its own life... and I don't think anyone in the administration wants to public to know just how bad off the church of polictical correctness has bitten us on the ass.

And finally, before my head completely and totally explodes, Obama continues his world wide apology tour in Japan. I can't wait to hear how his staff tries to explain THIS bow to a monarch. Maybe he was just "shrugging" or "bent down to say hello to a shorter man" or whatever drivel they'll try to explain this by. I wonder how far down he's going to bow to the ChiComs when he meets with them?

Urban Legend: General Giap's Attribution of Vietnamese Victory to the American Press

I've gotten several fowarded copies of an email that claim that General Vo Nguyen Giap claimed that the Vietnamese were ready to surrender, but the American media turned the tide of American political opinion against the military, in effect encouraging the Vietnamese to fight on. Walter Cronkite's famous "the war is over" comment is cited as well.

Giap never said it.

Nonetheless, I believe the conjecture was true, and it was corroborated by some of Giap's contemporaries. There's a reason these urban legends resonate, and it's becuase it has the ring of truth. And it's just as true today. I'm afraid that our efforts in Afghanistan are being given the same attributes that identified the Vietnamese effort - not from a military perspective, mind you, but the same mindless droning of the press. In fact, you don't have to look too hard to find an article asking the useless question, "is Afghanistan the next Vietnam?"

I read today that "morale dips for American Marines in Afghanistan," from a UK website. I also read that an "American serviceman" died in Afghanistan. Not much more detail than that. Actually, the former article ended up with a description of all the good things that the Marines were doing. Again, this was from a UK news source, not an American one.

Be mindful of the headlines and stories that you're seeing from our own press. You will rarely hear of the good that's being done, likewise you will rarely hear about the heroes who are over there to defeat an enemy, doing the job they were trained to do, a job they volunteered for.

The liberal media wants to project its own image of reality onto the American psyche, the truth be damned.

Guess which news organization that was, boys and girls?

The same arrogant statist who today attempted to remove Fox News from the White House pool was the same arrogant statist who kicked reporters from 'conservative' papers off his campaign jet a year ago. The same one who's been waging a war against a news outlet that happens to be the most popular, by far, of the cable news channels. Even the lib haven of the Huff Post states that Fox News recently pulled in more than twice the combined viewers of CNN and MSNBC.

Crushing dissent, my friends, is what the Nazis did in the 1930s. Remember - and I've quoted it here often enough:

through the US Constitution once again, I am surprised, totally surprised really that I could not find one shred of authority granted to the United States government to do this. I mean, after all, it wouldn't be right if our government was acting above the law; and they'd never do that, right?

If the government can dictate the salaries of these 175 people, they can dictate your salary.

Amateur hour continues

Remember a few weeks ago when the chosen one threw our eastern European allies under the bus?

Word on the street was that the administration did so to gain Russian co-operation in handling Iran's nuclear program. Some folks view sanctions as a strong deterrent and believe that placing sanctions on Iran will help them toe the line. Frankly, there has never been a time in my opinion that sanctions have actually ever worked, but that's another story.

Sanctions against Iran are even more irrelevant if Russia does not cooperate. Iran will just strengthen its ties with Russia and get the goods and materials it needs from Russia rather than the rest of the world.

So, getting rid of the missile shield in eastern Europe - which the Russians strongly protested - was seen as a way to gain Russian co-operation with Iran.

So much for that theory.

You see, this is what happens when you get someone in power who is more interested in negotiations and talks. Someone who's more interested in placating our enemies and who buys the line that folks around the world don't like us because of something we've done. And if we're just nice to them, talk to them, and throw 'em a bone or two, they will be our friends.

How'd that work with schoolyard bullies when you were a kid? Dealing with foreign governments is no different, my friends because those governments - Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Korea - are ruled by bullies who are used to getting their way and throwing their weight around.

The only way to deal with them without getting your lunch money stolen is to walk up to the biggest one and hit him hard enough in the face that he reconsiders his behavior.

Placating the school yard bully doesn't work, and it won't work on the international stage, either; or at least it hasn't in the last few thousand years or so.

Worked the USPSA Area 4 match this weekend. Work kept me from actually shooting the match Thursday/Friday, but such is life.

It's because it would appear that the bulk of the members of Congress are lying, cheating thieves.

"Many members" of Congress suffer from the same disclosure issues as Rep. Charles Rangel (D.N.Y.), one of his allies said Wednesday.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) downplayed the seriousness of allegations against Rangel that he failed to disclose sources of income and pay taxes on some properties, saying that many lawmakers suffer from innocent lapses in judgment when filing mandatory financial disclosure forms.

"I want to tell you, there are many members who, if you go back over all of their records, over all of the years, you're going to find that there were disclosures that were not made," Waters said during an appearance on MSNBC Wednesday morning.

Republicans were trying to remove the corrupt, thieving and lying Charlie Rangle from his position of head of one of the most powerful committees in Congress. His buddies on the Democrat side of the isle though, don't see a problem with the chairman of the committee that oversees the IRS and sets tax code for the United States having broken the very laws that he is responsible for making the rest of us live by.

Here's how they cook the books....

First sentence reads:

NEW YORK – President Barack Obama's approval ratings are starting to rise after declining ever since his inauguration, new poll figures show as the country's mood begins to brighten.

Leading the reader to believe that things are getting better for the messiah in chief - as for the first time since his inauguration his poll numbers have started to rise.

An Associated Press-GfK poll says 56 percent of those surveyed in the past week approve of Obama's job performance, up from 50 percent in September. It's the first time since he took office in January that his rating has gone up.

Sounds pretty rosy for the White House, right?

Well, you have to go to the poll itself to find the real story, and that one's buried near the end of the poll questions. On page 23 of 32, the question is: "Do you consider yourself a Democrat, a Republican, an Independent, or none of these?"

Total Democrat = 43%
Total Republican = 32%

So, right off the top you've got an 11% difference in sampling, and that difference favors the president. Take a look at the sampling and you'll see around 90% of the Democrats are in the strong to moderate category and around 60% of Republicans are in the same category.

The Democrats that responded tend to be more liberal and left leaning and the Republicans that responded are nearly evenly divided into thirds - equally spread between strong, moderate and independent.

Add those two things up and you'll find that this "independent" poll ain't so unbiased. Yet I can promise you that the headlines tomorrow will read "Obama's poll numbers make strong turnaround" or some such tripe.

But the fact of the matter is that the poll numbers are cooked, and the president is still searching vainly for a cogent thought.

When the farmer’s wife protests, he tells her to discuss it in court.

I will also point out, dear readers, that this tragedy would have been averted with a coupla guys armed to the teeth. But, oh, wait.... Chavez has made it nearly impossible for private citizens to legally own firearms. A few well placed .223 or .308 rounds would have made all the difference in this little encounter.....

CNN Fact Checks Last Saturday's SNL Obama-Razzing Skit

Really!! I'm not making it up!!

CNN actually fact checked a comedy skit on Saturday Night Live. You see, making fun of the chosen one is verboten under the Ministry of Propaganda - doesn't NBC know that?


The skit was actually kinda funny. Not rip roaring, gut busting funny, but I got a giggle or two out of it. And really, I couldn't find anything that SNL said that was off base. Other than weakening our country's national defense and our alliances with eastern Europe, France and Britain; the BS stimulus package and the nightmare of debt that has left the country with, he's done squat. And frankly, that's more than enough.

War? What war?

While Obama, Michelle and the Oprah were busy hobnobbing (to no avail) with the IOC, the chosen one found a little time to finally meet with his general on the ground in Afghanistan.

Official word from the White House, though, is that no decision about the war in Afghanistan has been made, but they did manage to achieve

a consensus to hold more meetings, up to five, including two next week. The president will take "the next several weeks to review our strategy," Mr. Gibbs said.

This is what happens when liberal Democrats run the country's foreign policy. Meetings. And never mind the fact that for over a month now, there has been a call for more troops on the ground by the man running the show in Afghanistan.

In the past month, the president has found the time to play golf - four times. He's had links legend Arnold Palmer and other top golfers over to the White House. He's shot some hoops with friends and yukked it up with hockey's Pittsburgh Penguins.

He's celebrated Ramadan at the White House, eulogized newsman Walter Cronkite in New York City, attended several fundraisers (including Thursday afternoon's luncheon), appeared on David Letterman's late-night show (one of eight interviews), delivered two speeches to AFL-CIO rallies and dropped by the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial for a visit with his wife and daughters.

And instead of spending time figuring out how to defend this country, the chosen one has been sidelined with some very important tasks, like nominating

Carolyn W. Colvin to be deputy commissioner of Social Security. He picked Paul K. Martin to be inspector general of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. He issued an executive order demanding federal workers stop texting while driving government vehicles.

Yes, texting while driving has reached a more important part of the president's day than making decisions over a war that he campaigned on:

Democrat Obama declared that the failed policy in Iraq -- which he argued was never the central front in the war on terror -- has distracted attention from the growing terrorist threat in Afghanistan and proves the need to withdraw from Iraq. "If another attack on our homeland comes, it will likely come from the same region where 9/11 was planned," he said in a speech in Washington. "And yet today, we have five times more troops in Iraq than Afghanistan."

So, I guess since the surge won the war in Iraq, the distraction Obama mentioned during the campaign is gone.... And now we find ourselves distracted by texting while driving. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

I believe that this is really the reason why the previous worst president in American history has been out there talking all kind of smack about how racist the country is and getting everyone worked up. He knows that the worse it gets for Obama, the better chances there are that he'll be relegated to the 2nd worst president in American history - less than a year into Obama's term, I think it's already safe to say that Carter's no longer the worst president we've seen in our lifetimes. And contrary to Carter's idiocy, Obama's pathetic behavior and America's reaction to it has nothing to do with the color of his skin. Rather, it's that Americans tend to not suffer fools very well and Obama and his corrupt cronies are proving themselves to be quite the fool.

"As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days," the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, "so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home."

Let's see... you fly to Europe on the taxpayer's dollar. I'm sure she's not staying in the Motel 6. I'm sure she's not eating at the usual "affordable" locations. (at least affordable for those of us normal people) You get to hang out with all the "in" crowd in Copenhagen. And that's some sort of..... sacrifice? spit spit spit.

You know it's bad when the French are upset with the lack of resolve from an American president.

President Sarkozy .... had been "frustrated" for months about Mr. Obama's reluctance to confront Iran, a senior French government official told us, and saw an opportunity to change momentum. [at the United Nations] But the Administration told the French that it didn't want to "spoil the image of success" for Mr. Obama's debut at the U.N. and his homily calling for a world without nuclear weapons, according to the Paris daily Le Monde. So the Iran bombshell was pushed back a day to Pittsburgh, where the G-20 were meeting to discuss economic policy.

Ahhhh. The image of success. We're not about actual success, and are more concerned with the image. Nice.

Once again, there's not a day that goes by that in some way I wonder just what the hell has happened to my country.

Couple items

of note...

1st up - did anyone really believe that Obama would take a single step to secure our porous border with Mexico? Other than clamping down on all the "American" guns that find their way south of the border, that is. This little news story points out that rather than do anything to increase the American presence on the southern border, we are actually cutting back on boots on the ground.

I guess if your ultimate plan is to legalize every illegal in the country anyway, what's the point?

Even though the Border Patrol now reports that almost 1,300 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border is not under effective control, and the Department of Justice says that vast stretches of the border are “easily breached,” and the Government Accountability Office has revealed that three persons “linked to terrorism” and 530 aliens from “special interest countries” were intercepted at Border Patrol checkpoints last year, the administration is nonetheless now planning to decrease the number of Border Patrol agents deployed on the U.S.-Mexico border.

But remember, folks, it's OUR guns that are causing the current spate of problems along the border. Has nothing at all to do with a nonexistent border and reduced manpower on the ground.

2nd up - Earlier this month, I lamented over the fact that the AP saw fit to criticize how much Palin's resignation cost Alaska. I asked at the time when we would see reports of how much Democrat's leaving office cost their states and lo and behold, nearly a month later, we find out it cost at least $500,000 for good ole Teddy Kennedy's funeral. But instead of the breathless reporting we got about Palin, it's just reported as is, nearly without editorial comment.

The city of Boston spent $431,000 on overtime costs to deploy 629 police officers, 48 firefighters, and a raft of other workers for the funeral of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, according to information released to the Globe yesterday under a public records request.

Other law enforcement agencies also helped provide security for the Kennedy memorial events. Massachusetts State Police disclosed last month that it had spent nearly $115,000 on overtime costs for Kennedy’s funeral, according to a tabulation released in response to a public records request from the Associated Press.

So, instead of the panic involved with reporting Palin's resignation, we get a quiet little story about how much the swimmer's funeral cost - and I feel fairly certain that this too, like the rest of the Kennedy family history, will be all swept under the rug.

Man arrested in alleged attempt to bomb Dallas skyscraper

Federal authorities arrested a 19-year-old Jordanian citizen whom they said placed an inactive car bomb today at Fountain Place, a 60-story skyscraper in downtown Dallas.

Instead of rockets, boosters and expensive control systems, they filled a weather balloon with helium and hung a styrofoam beer cooler underneath to carry a cheap Canon A470 compact camera. Instant hand warmers kept things from freezing up and made sure the batteries stayed warm enough to work.

The balloon and camera made it up high enough to see the black sky curling around our blue planet. ... The intervalometer (interval timer) was set to shoot a picture every five seconds, and the 8-GB memory card was enough to hold pictures for the five-hour duration of the flight.

The picture you see ... was shot from around 93,000 feet, just shy of 18 miles high. To give you an idea of how high that is, when the balloon burst, the beer-cooler took 40 minutes to come back to Earth.

Despite what Chairman Obama will have us believe, 9/11 is NOT a day to think about community service.

Obama issued a proclamation earlier this week urging Americans to mark the anniversary of the attacks with community service. After leaving the Pentagon, the president and first lady toured a Habitat for Humanity housing development in Washington and pitched in by painting a living room.

It is, and should remain, a day to remember the victims of terrorist scumbags and the brave firefighters, police, and passengers on Flight 93 who gave their lives to protect this country.

If, as President, you want to say we should all have a sense of community and be willing to help out, by all means, OK.

But not on this day.

Couple stories on tonight's news digest have really set me off.

First up, the AP states: Palin resignation costs Alaska at least $40,000 I don't know how much it cost for her to resign. Who cares? Where's the story on how much it cost Illinois and the US Senate for Barrack Obama to resign? How 'bout the story on how much it cost Delaware and the US Senate for Joe Biden to resign? Or even a story on how much it cost New York and the US Senate for Hillary Clinton to resign? And if you really want to get into it, how much did the death of Ted "the swimmer" Kennedy cost Massachusetts and the US Senate?

Based on the continuous snipe hunts, I'd say that the media is rather afraid of Mrs. Palin. I've no idea if I'd vote for her again; it would depend on who else is running. But the fact that she obviously scares the hell out of the leftists is nothing but good if you were to ask me.

The next AP story is even more revolting. The same asshats who refused to publish cartoons of mohamed because they didn't want to insult or offend muslims around the world have seen fit to publish a photo of a dying Marine against the wishes of his family.

The reporterette who snapped the picture tried to justify the image by stating that:

she showed members of his squad all the images taken that day and the Marines flipped through them on her computer one by one.

"They did stop when they came to that moment," she said. "But none of them complained or grew angry about it. They understood that it was what it was. They understand, despite that he was their friend, it was the reality of things.

No, you dumbass. They showed tremendous restraint and they probably had no idea whatsoever that you would be brazen enough to publish the photo.

In publishing the photo, on top of insulting the family of the fallen Marine, AP has provided our enemies with a propaganda coup. Isn't that sweet?

The AP continues to prove that it is not worth the paper it's printed on. Disgusting.

TV

Usually, other than sports and the History Channel, I've pretty much given up on watching TV. It's largely worthless and serves only as background noise...

However, after watching Spike TV's Surviving Disaster first episode, I just might have a new show to watch.

The first episode was on "how to survive a hijacking" and it was, at the very least, entertaining TV. The host is yet another Navy SEAL making the jump to prime time, and he's nowhere near as over-dramatic (or annoying) as the Future Weapons host Mac.

Perhaps it's because there's a complete and total lack of, dare I say, masculine TV (other than sports) but the first episode was good enough that I'll check out the next one.

Regardless, it beats the hell out of Lifetime TV, Oprah and Dr. Phil.....

Now, if any of us normal, working people neglected to pay taxes on millions of dollars in income how long would it take the IRS to throw us in jail and confiscate everything we own?

Granted, we are operating on the assumption that none of us work for the Obama administration, in which case we would get a free ride.

Apparently, that blanket of invincibility extends to powerful Democrat Congressmen as well.

The documents also show the embattled chairman of the Ways and Means Committee -- who is being probed by the House Ethics Committee -- failed to reveal a staggering $3 million in various business transactions over the same period.

Two stories out today here and here detail some of the financial disclosures.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Democrats who are running our country into the ground are setting up a Soviet style of government, where there are two distinct classes. There will be the bulk of us in the proletariat and then there will be the nomenklatura - people like Charlie Rangle, Team Obama, etc to whom the rules do not apply. It's already happening now - and all you have to do to see it is look at how many of Obama's Team have various legal issues that somehow or other managed to get overlooked.

Abd al Rahim al-Nashiri, according to the 9-11 commission report, was the mastermind of the Oct. 12, 2000, attack on the U.S.S. Cole that killed 17 U.S. sailors.

Nashiri was also the target of an "unauthorized" CIA interrogation technique (that had not been legally vetted by the Justice Department) that is described in a May 7, 2004, CIA inspector general's report that was partially declassified by the Obama administration this week.

CIA officers blew smoke in Nashiri's face, according to the report, and they used cigars.

Now, if they wasted a perfectly good Cuban cigar on this piece of shit, then yep, that's pretty bad. If it was a cheap cruddy King Edward or the like, then that's ok. But I'll be damned if I think it would be worth it to waste a good Cohiba or Romeo and Julietta on some terrorist asshole.

Just to show you how far we've fallen, take a look at what counts for torture in Obamaworld:

Abd al-Nashiri, the man accused of being behind the 2000 USS Cole bombing, was hooded, handcuffed and threatened with an unloaded gun and a power drill. The unidentified interrogator also threatened al-Nashiri's mother and family, implying they would be sexually abused in front of him, according to the report.

You read that right, dear reader - threatened with an unloaded gun and drill. And then threatened his family.

Another interrogator told alleged Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, "if anything else happens in the United States, 'We're going to kill your children,'" one veteran officer said in the report.

Oooooh. More threats.

In another instance, an interrogator choked off the carotid artery of a detainee until he started to pass out, then shook him awake. He did this three times.

Oh boy! Now we're getting serious!! Anyone who hasn't done this to their siblings growing up had a pretty dull life.

The report describes at least one mock execution, which would also violate U.S. anti-torture laws. To terrify one detainee, interrogators pretended to execute the prisoner in a nearby room.

Oh boy, next thing you know, Halloween haunted houses are going to be illegal too.

Need I remind you, my friends, that these so called atrocities (spit) are not even in the same universe as the actual atrocities committed by the scumbags our guys were interviewing. You know, actual rape rooms. Actual executions (with dull knives, caught on film). Actually using power drills on helpless captives.

The pantywaists running our government would have us believe that there is a moral equivalency between the acts committed by our side with the acts of terrorism committed by those we fight. All in a disgusting attempt to divert attention from plummeting poll numbers, raucous town halls, and a health care plan that is dying a slow, lingering death.

Is Obamacare a government takeover? Will immigrants get free health checkups? Will the government be funding abortions? Will there be death panels -- as the president said -- "pulling the plug on Grandma?"

"Now," Mr. Obama said, pausing for several seconds for effect: "C'mon." The packed room cheered.

"Look, we know where these lies are coming from. If you just flick channels and then just stop on -- certain ones -- then you'll see, you know, you'll see who's propagating this stuff," the president said, drawing laughter with a clear allusion to Fox News.

Let's look at these charges, and see who's lyin' to who, shall we?

- "Is Obamacare a government takeover?" Page 16 of the House bill states:

CONDITIONS.—Subject to paragraph (3) and except as required by law, the issuer does not change any of its terms or conditions, including benefits and cost-sharing, from those in effect as of the day before the first day of Y1.

So. If the insurance company doesn't change its terms or conditions from those that were in effect before the bill becomes law, then you can keep your private insurance. Someone please tell me when a year went by that something didn't change in your insurance policy. If and when something changes, dear readers, then guess what? You get to go to the government policy. Yes, Obamacare is a government takeover. Also see page 72, 84, 145.

- Will immigrants get free health checkups? Page 50 of the House bill states:

SEC. 152. PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION IN HEALTH CARE.
(a) IN GENERAL.—Except as otherwise explicitly permitted by this Act and by subsequent regulations consistent with this Act, all health care and related services(including insurance coverage and public health activities) covered by this Act shall be provided without regard to personal characteristics extraneous to the provision of high quality health care or related services.

You know, personal characteristics like if you are in the country legally or not. Sure, it doesn't come out and say "illegal immigrants get free health care". But seriously, how long do you think it will be before some slip and fall lawyer sues because his illegal immigrant client's "personal characteristics" were trod upon? Yep, immigrants to this country, regardless of their status,will get the public option. Also see page 91, 170.

- Will the government be funding abortions? Page 768 states:

(1) Improving maternal or child health and pregnancy outcomes or increasing birth intervals between pregnancies.

The topic that this paragraph refers to deals with home visits by nurses to help make pregnant mothers make proper choices. For the life of me, I can't come up with just how they are going to tell a pregnant woman how she's going to increase the interval between pregnancies unless they are going to abort the child she's currently pregnant with. So, yeah, it does look like the government will be funding abortions.

- Will there be death panels? Page 430 states:

(B) The level of treatment indicated under subparagraph (A)(ii) may range from an indication for full treatment to an indication to limit some or all or specified interventions. Such indicated levels of treatment may include indications respecting, among other items—
(i) the intensity of medical intervention if the patient is pulse less, apneic, or has serious cardiac or pulmonary problems;
(ii) the individual’s desire regarding transfer to a hospital or remaining at the current care setting;
(iii) the use of antibiotics; and
(iv) the use of artificially administered nutrition and hydration.’’

That's right, dear readers. The government has already decided within the context of this bill, what treatments you will have available to you at the end of life. Yes, folks, read that again. The decision as to what (if any) treatment you get is going to be left up to someone that may or may not include your physician. So, yes, there are death panels in place to decide what treatment you get - or don't get. If you consider who's advising the White House on end of life treatment - Dr. Ezekiel Emmanuel (brother of the White House Chief of Staff bully boy Rahm) - who's argued that only the folks in the 15-40 age group should get the complete benefit of the health care system as the people on either end of that demographic have lost or not yet achieved their productivity; then surely you could understand why people believe that Obamacare is going to limit care to the elderly and "non-productive" and make decisions based on value to society rather than personal need.

So, Mr. President. C'mon.

If only...

I were king for a day. This turd would not live to enjoy one single breath of fresh air. This is one of those "red phone ringing at 2 in the morning" moments, and once again, the messiah has dropped the ball.

He apparently spoke quite forcefully against the release of this scumbag but frankly, Mr. President, there's a time for nice words and a time to pull the trigger.

This, dear reader, was one of those times to pull the trigger. Obama is learning that all of his niceties, all of his compassion for the rest of the world, all of his eloquence (when the teleprompter is working), and all of his 'diplomacy' don't account for a pile of beans in the real world.

Obama is making it quite clear that he is not willing to act to protect American lives around the world, and the American people are likely to pay a very dear price for it.

Tax dodgers scramble to come clean amid crackdown

I wonder how many in the Obama administration will have to "come clean" with this "crackdown"?

Oh, wait, I forgot, the rules don't apply to *them*.

And the dog doesn't like it. I can't imagine how many protests and shakedowns that the community organizer in chief organized when he was out earning his street cred.

Now isn't it funny that the community organizer doesn't want the rest of us organizing against his monolithic health care production?

"I know there's been a lot of attention paid to some of the town hall meetings that are going on around the country, especially when tempers flare," Obama said, at his own event with 1,300 people in an airport hangar.

"TV loves a ruckus," said Obama and then joked: "you've got to be careful about those cable networks."

Yeah, that's it. The cable channels (all or most of which are solidly in the tank for the dear leader) are doing the rabble rousing because we are just too damn stupid for our own good. It's not that we're all reading this abomination of a bill put out by the House and strongly dislike what we see.

But the president argued that away from television's glare, people were holding "civil, honest" conversations about change, at a time when some 46 million Americans have no health care insurance whatsoever.

Recalling a placid event he held in New Hampshire on Tuesday, the president said: "that reflects America a lot more than what we've seen covered on television for the last few days."

Hmmmm... the "placid" event in New Hampshire on Tuesday was so rigged to provide Obama with a friendly crowd that even some of the news networks (like ABC radio) were reporting it as such after it happened. As reported by Michelle Malkin - and I know you'll be shocked, SHOCKED, to hear this - the questions and questioners were rigged. Little Julia, who asked about all those meanies out there with signs, has a mommy who

was an early Obama supporter in Massachusetts during the presidential election, so she had previously met First Lady Michelle Obama, the Obama daughters Sasha and Malia, and Vice President Joe Biden.

Mommy and mommy's law firm have also donated several thousand dollars to the messiah.... so I'm sure that this was just yet another harmless coincidence in a long string of coincidences when it comes to asking the dear leader a question.

And speaking of asking the dear leader a question it would appear that Senator Cornyn was spot on in saying the White House is keeping a "list" on those of us who dare to disagree with the chosen one. Take a look at this video clip from Goebbels, I mean, Gibbs.



Frankly, I'm kinda pissed. I snitched on myself to the "fishy" email list at the White House and I have yet to get one of these emails. Maybe I'll have to snitch again??

Some interesting stuff out there today in the news...

For starters, the esteemed Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, has stated for the record, that people like you and me are not voicing our own opinions but are instead paid hacks. And oh, by the way, that the protesters who are out there speaking out against Obamacare are, get this.... carrying "swastikas and things like that to a town hall meeting..." Tell a lie often enough and loud enough, right?

Next up, the statists running the Country (into the ground, I might add...) have ordered 3 brand spanking new top of the line executive jets for them to travel around the world in. And what makes it worse, they took the money out of the Defense Department's budget to the tune of nearly $200 million.

Let's think about that for a moment, shall we? The same people who criticized auto execs flying corporate jets to Washington are the same arrogant bastards who are spending almost $200 million of OUR money to ferry their pompous asses around the world. First off, I could care less what some corporate CEO (or anyone else for that matter) does with their own money. If they want to fly on their own aircraft, drive their own car, or hitchhike across the country, I don't give a damn.

Congress, however, isn't spending their own money (or their own company's money). They are spending OUR money. And frankly, I believe if they had to take a Greyhound bus home to visit their constituents instead of jet setting across the globe, we'd all be a lot better off. Apparently, however, Speaker Pelosi and her statist colleagues believe what Napoleon the pig so eloquently stated: “All animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal."

And finally, some better news. Senator Cornyn has been on fire the past few days, taking the attack to the statist thugs running our country. On Monday, he released a statement criticizing the so called "Great Lakes Gitmo".

“The terrorists held at Guantanamo Bay were sent there for a reason; they hate America and dream of killing innocent Americans. Needlessly spending millions of taxpayer dollars on a ‘Great Lakes GITMO’ makes no sense and serves no purpose, other than to pander to the most extreme within the President’s party. We are a compassionate and civilized nation, but it is the duty of those in public office to ensure the safety and security of our citizens, first and foremost. That is why these dangerous individuals belong at GITMO and not on U.S. soil.

“I implore the President to keep that in mind and immediately stop throwing good taxpayer dollars after bad policy ideas. If he is looking for a creative way to spend money, I respectfully suggest leaving GITMO open and using the millions of dollars in ‘savings’ to pay down the monumental deficit he has racked up since taking office in January.”

And then today, in response to the White House's request to turn in your friends and neighbors if one suspects something... fishy (and *they* have the gall to call US Nazis?) Senator Cornyn stated:

“I am not aware of any precedent for a President asking American citizens to report their fellow citizens to the White House for pure political speech that is deemed ‘fishy’ or otherwise inimical to the White House’s political interests,”

“I can only imagine the level of justifiable outrage had your predecessor asked Americans to forward emails critical of his policies to the White House. I suspect that you would have been leading the charge in condemning such a program -- and I would have been at your side denouncing such heavy-handed government action.”

Turnabout's fair play?

I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying listening to the Democrats whine and complain that the protesters raiding town hall meetings are not spontaneous and are bused in, paid for by some megalithic corporation or whatever the excuse of the day is.

In Austin, Texas, Rep. Lloyd Doggett was drowned out by a group of noisy, sign-waving demonstrators who shouted, “Just say no” as he tried to talk about health care reform... In an e-mail to POLITICO Monday, Doggett called the group a “mob, sent by the local Republican and Libertarian parties” that “came not just to be heard but to deny others the right to be heard.”

As I posted way back when, in 2005 when I snuck behind enemy lines (sorry, that made me laugh) and inspected good ole Cindee Sheehan's protest camp at the Bush Crawford residence. The hippies I ran into were running a smooth, professional operation with porta potties, shuttle buses and professionally made posters and banners. All of which cost money, time and effort.

While the state run media is always happy to point out that a leftist demonstration is always spontaneous, they are not giving the same story about conservative demonstrations - if the state run media covers it at all. And as an aside, I could care less if the Republicans bused demonstrators in. As I pointed out at Camp Sheehan, conservatives could (and should) learn a thing or two from the hippies. After all, they have a 4 decade head start on protesting and it's about time they had a taste of their own medicine.

Coming Home

After 18 long years, one of our own is finally coming home.

The remains of the first American lost in the Gulf War have been found in Iraq, the military said Sunday, a sorrowful resolution of a nearly two-decade old question about the fate of Navy Capt. Michael "Scott" Speicher.

It would appear that 3 Americans hikers on vacation have been captured by the Iranians after crossing into Iranian territory. (secondary question - who in their right mind would go on vacation in Iraq at this point in time??)

Instead of telling the punks running Iran that they have 12 hours to return the hostages before we bomb their ass back to the stone age, this is what we get:

State Department spokesman Robert Wood said Saturday that Washington had asked the Swiss, who represent U.S. interests in Tehran, "to confirm these reports with Iranian authorities and, if true, to seek consular access" to the detained Americans.

Man, I can see the mullahs shaking in their sheets over that one, yessiree!

I hope these poor bastards don't languish in Iran as long as the American hostages did back when Carter was running the show.
