And then the story goes on to 'report' that indeed, a DNC organization, closely linked to the Kerry campaign DID indeed take this stupid ass poll and it was then reported by members of Kerry's staff!!

Also, just love Lockhart's answer "we don't talk about our internal polls."

While the Bush campaign says openly "We have not asked any questions related to bin Laden, this tape, or any other tape in our polling...."

I'm very curious to see how college students vote this election. I've got a conservative friend (an older gentleman) who has returned to college, and he's found it in his best interest to just hold his peace when political discussions start up. The campus is SO liberal (how liberal is it?), that he fears his grades would be jeopardized by his conservative position.

I've got a theory that this election will be a reflection of this college model. I believe that most people are like my friend - conservative, but not vocal. They'll speak on Tuesday at the polls. Reckon we'll see, huh?

And free people don't let go of their security contrary to Bush's claims that we hate freedom. He should tell us why we didn't hit Sweden for instance. Its known that those who hate freedom don't have dignified souls.like the 19 who were blessed. But we fought you because we are free people, we don't sleep on our oppression. We want to regain the freedom of our Muslim nation as you spill our security, we spill your security.

Female presenter: Bin Laden spoke for the first time about the main reasons he thought of executing Sept 11 attacks, confirming that the Israeli operation in Lebanon was the first incident where he thought of it.

OBL: I am so surprised by you. Female Presenter: In Bin Laden's message he approached other points. He pointed to the contradiction which considers oppression and killing of innocents a legal act. Bin Laden pointed to the millions of pounds of explosives dropped on Iraqi children as bush his son had done, as he said to remove an old agent and install a new agent to help instealing the oil of iraq. And bin laden said the events of 9/11 came as an answer to this oppression and said that if the answer to this oppression is considered bad terror, then we need to do it. And he stressed that he wants to deliver this message to the Americans in words and in deeds since the 9/11 events. He reminded Americans of a few warning messages through various news media like Time Magazine and CNN and other Arab and correspondents since 1996. He warned them of the conswquences of their countries policies. He talked abou t the damage Sept 11 caused the US economy and that it cost close to a trillion dollars. He talked about President Bush and that the emergency law requires more money.

Why do the Demo-rats continue to do this!?! Someone who can have a rational, logical thought, explain this to me. Bush (and the Republicans) want judges on the supreme court who will adhere to the strict interpretation of the constitution.

The main subject that Kerry (and the Demo-rats) seem to give a rat's ass about, is the abortion issue, which I don't believe was ever one of the intended powers of the founding fathers. But there I go using my history degree. What'd I know?

Regardless, I still think it's completely asinine to base your entire choice on who sits on the supreme court based on the abortion issue.

I love it when something like this makes the news, but you hear nothing on the national level of early republican voters being intimidated by union thugs or the dozens of republican campaign offices that have been broken into in the last few weeks.

We don't seem to care about the out and out problems that mr kerry seems to have in remembering where he was, and when he was there - from cambodia, to speeches with Hanoi Jane, to which members of the security council he met with and when etc etc etc.

But, we are going to give Condi a hard time because she hints that John Kerry is a dork. Lovely.

And, I do also seem to recall that the last sinking demo-rat ship the clintons tried to save was good ole Governor Davis and I think he got a royal ass whipping from the terminator.

Election Projection - 2004 Edition

It's only 8 more days until Election Day. As I sit here on a Monday morning, looking forward to the week ahead, I wonder exactly what this week will bring. Kerry's getting desperate. Democrats are getting more shrill. Lawyers are salivating over the prospect of election challenges. CBS is giving Dan Rather all the gin he can drink. Campaign headquarters are being looted. Yard signs are being destroyed. It's all coming to a head, and I (for one) am ready for this election to be over.

I'm going out on a limb here, and guessing that come Wednesday, November 3, one of two things will have happened: 1) George Bush is the clear winner of the race, and Kerry concedes, or 2) it's too close to call, and we'll be in for another round of recounts ala 2000. I'm leaning towards #1, of course, but I doubt the Democratic candidate has the huevos to admit when he's lost. Reckon we'll see. Notice that I did not consider a third scenario involving the desecration of our nation's highest office. Don't think that's gonna happen.

Another thought about this week: who else will try to disrupt our election process? If anyone does, take a look at who it is, and consider one thing: why do they want Bush out of office so badly?

How easy would it be to have a data collection point set up to automatically download information about your driving? Things like speeding, seat belts, cell phone usage. Once this is done, your insurance rates would be automatically adjusted. The reason? Data collected from your black box says you speed way too much. And how much is too much? The insurance company decides. Any speed over 55 mph, and you're high risk. No seat belt, high risk. Talking on the cell phone is a distraction, so you are really high risk.

Think about how your toll tag works. Same thing. They could set up readers anywhere and everyday your information could be downloaded without your knowledge and used to determine your insurance rates.

And one step away would be to integrate GPS with this technology (which is already available and being used) so they can pinpoint exact locations of your violations so now law enforcement can issue citations based on this technology. Now we have two hands in the cookie jar. What an easy way to generate income. They could designate specific highways as dangerous and if you drive in them, your rates increase because you are in peril everyday!

Like I said, it's not Iraq, it's not Health care or Medicare, it's not even the election. Its insurance companies that have become more powerful than some nations. And once again, who do they answer to? The inmates are running the asylum. Don't think so? How can Insurance Company A make a profit of over 9 BILLION dollars and then declare a rate increase?

Maybe that should be my new venture, creating technology to counteract this. Kind of like Electronic Counter Measures for your car.

I've got an inside source, of someone who is serving overseas in the AO of where this 'incident' took place. Suffice it to say that this particular unit is not viewed in a positive light by other units serving with them. Suffice it to say that the reason their vehicles were "not right for the job" is that members of this unit have sabotaged their own equipment by cutting brake lines and putting water in their gasoline.

Funny how THAT didn't make it onto the vaunted pages of CNN. Maybe they're just missing Baghdad Bob too much to actually try and do some honest to god reporting.

Walk the Vote

This weekend was the Walk the Vote campaign for the 2004 Election. I sponsored a neighborhood walk, and talked with a number of folks I'd not yet met in my neighborhood. My estimate of their sentiment: I don't think there's a problem with Bush carrying Texas. When I asked if they'd support the President in the upcoming election, the response was either pro-Bush, or markedly anti-Kerry.

I'm actually very concerned about the polar opposite stances in this election. I'll start a post about that later, and give everyone a chance to weigh in. It seems there's very little middle ground this time around, and the 2 sides are diatmetrically opposed. Doesn't bode well for Election Day.
