It would appear that the day before the chosen one accepted his Nobel Peace Prize, the Ruskies launched a practice ICBM from a submarine near Norway.

Close enough, it would seem, that

(t)he failure of a new Russian intercontinental ballistic missile during testing was the cause of the spectacular, spiraling, blue lights seen early Wednesday in the skies over northern Norway, analysts said.

How ironic that the man who's stated goal is to rid the world of nuclear weapons was greeted in Norway with a (failed) test of a Russian ICBM. I'm sure that the test's timing was purely coincidental....

How to lose a war

This, my friends, is how you lose a war.

No, not because Blackwater was used to conduct operations against our enemy.

But when you start suggesting that killing and capturing al qaeda turds is somehow a bad thing, it's a dangerous, slippery slope to the end of the road.

I don't give a damn if it was Delta, Rangers, SEALs, Recon, line infantry, airborne units or, dare I say, contractors who are killing the bad guys. That's getting the job done that needs doin', plain and simple.

But when you start suggesting that a relationship between the CIA and Blackwater to kill or capture terrorists is somehow a negative, we're screwed.

We've been screwed since last November anyway, but this is just more icing on the cake.

When people ask why the messiah is in such a hurry to completely alter the course of the United States, all you need to do is take a look at the latest Gallup Poll. At 47% approval, he's lower than anyone else has been at this point in their presidency since Gallup started when FDR was president.

The reason Obama is in such a hurry is that he knows time is short and he needs to get as much done as he can in as short a period of time possible.

As part of my job, I had the opportunity a year or two ago to conduct an oral history interview with a gentleman who had served in the US Navy during WWII and was a survivor of Pearl Harbor.

It was one of the most interesting, entertaining, and downright sad interviews that I have conducted - sad mostly because his generation is dying off and not many people remember any more.

In fact, this fellow passed away himself a few weeks ago, right after Veteran's Day.

I'm glad I got to know him and proud I had the opportunity to share his memories from that day.

I won't forget.

Lego gun at work brings in the SWAT team

Oh dear God. At least this happened to our wonderful neighbors to the north but seriously people...

"I was surrounded by about six SWAT guys armed with shotguns and assault rifles," he said. "Once they confirmed I wasn't packing any Lego heat, I walked backwards towards them, was then cuffed, pulled into the stairwell and thrown against the wall."

While two members of the SWAT team kept Mr. Bell pressed against the wall, he explained that there was a Lego gun in pieces in his office. Sure enough, a few minutes later, an officer confirmed it.

"We found it ... it's Lego," Mr. Bell recalled the officer saying, as the police promptly uncuffed him.

It turns out police were tipped off by a neighbour whose apartment looks in on Mr. Bell's office. Police say a call came in shortly after 5:30 p.m. with the caller reporting that a man was sitting in his office with a gun on his desk and the door closed (Mr. Bell had been on an earlier conference call so had closed the door).

The last couple of sentences sum up a PC gone crazy world:

As for why he bought the toy gun in the first place, blame it on a love for Lego.

"I've always been a fan of Lego, so I decided to pick it up," Mr. Bell said. "I wish I had a decent reason for purchasing it, but I don't. For shame, I suppose."

The problem with KSM

I've been cogitating since I heard that the Obama administration was going to try KSM in New York City, right down the street from where the WTC used to stand.

And my friends, I'm going to tell you that there will be nothing good that comes from this.

In no particular order, here's (just part) of the bag of worms this administration has opened:

So is Holder saying that KSM will be found guilty, regardless? Do you think the islamists are going to be happy with American justice - since after all, the Attorney General of the United States is on record of saying that KSM is going to be found guilty, because failure's not an option, right? How's that going to sit with the infamous arab street? So much for Chairman Obama's attempt to get the arab world to love us.

Our government has now given Constitutional rights to people who are not only NOT American citizens, but to people who have actively worked to destroy this country - and as a by product, the American Constitution. Does this mean now that any asshat our troops capture on the battlefield will be read their Miranda rights like a common criminal in this country? What will this do to any terrorist we capture on the battlefield from now on?

That if we caught Bin Laden tomorrow, there are mixed theories and we couldn’t turn him over to the CIA, the FBI, or military intelligence for an interrogation on the battlefield because now we’re saying that he is subject to criminal court in the United States and you’re confusing the people fighting this war. What would you tell the military commander who captured him? Would you tell him you must read him his rights and give him a lawyer? And if you did tell him that would you jeopardize the prosecution in a federal court?

If I were a defense attorney representing these turds, the first thing I would do is say "judge, my clients were not read their Miranda rights when they were captured and as a result, anything they have said since that time is null and void." If that doesn't work, look for plan B: "judge, my clients were tortured, waterboarded, treated like caged animals. Anything they said in Gitmo is tainted evidence and cannot be trusted."

Secrets. Don't think for a minute that the scumbag defense attorneys won't ask to see what we knew about KSM and how we knew it. Methods and means of gathering intelligence are going to be revealed, allies are going to be left holding the bag (because if there's one thing we've learned about the Messiah it's that it is never HIS fault), and the security of our country is going to be put at risk and weakened. The entire American system will be put on trial, not KSM. One of the scumbag's lawyers has stated so already.

I sincerely appreciate you joining us at Fort Hood, Texas, last week for the memorial ceremony honoring the victims of the horrific November 5 attack. Thank you for your participation and your moving, heartfelt words. In the wake of this massacre, my prayers remain with the fallen, the injured, and their families, as I know yours do.

I look forward to questioning Attorney General Holder on Wednesday about the role that federal law enforcement agencies played in this particular case, as well as what actions they are taking to prevent radical Islam from finding a home in the U.S. Armed Forces. The federal government has a fundamental duty to our men and women in uniform to safeguard them against avoidable harm in the course of their service. We must protect the protectors whenever and wherever we are able, especially at home in the United States. Our government failed the brave Americans who were killed and wounded at Fort Hood. The devastation inflicted on them was preventable, and it is of paramount importance that we ascertain exactly where the system broke down.

The question of how this could ever happen on U.S. soil must be answered as soon as possible, so as to foreclose the possibility of future attacks of this nature. I understand that a myriad of investigations are underway, and I appreciate the importance of ascertaining the facts before making any judgments. Nonetheless, it seems increasingly likely that Islamist terrorism is to blame for this senseless attack. I was pleased that you alluded to this in your remarks at Fort Hood, stating that, “no faith justifies these murderous and craven acts; no just and loving God looks upon them with favor.” I could not agree more.

Islamist terrorism represents one of the single most dangerous threats to the national security of the United States. As you know, this enemy seeks the complete and total destruction of our nation, our government, and our entire American way of life. As the 9/11 Commission stated in its report, “The enemy is not just ‘terrorism.’ It is the threat posed specifically by Islamist terrorism, by Bin Ladin and others who draw on a long tradition of extreme intolerance within a minority strain of Islam that does not distinguish politics from religion, and distorts both.”

Al Qaeda, in a 1998 fatwa signed by its leaders, Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri, instructed that: “to kill the Americans and their allies—civilian and military—is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it . . . .” Similarly, in a 2006 propaganda video, al Qaeda specifically urged viewers to "go on a shooting spree” at a key military installation. As more and more facts surrounding the Fort Hood attack surface, it looks increasingly probable that the alleged attacker, Major Nidal Hasan, heeded these terrorist calls to violence, compelled by a fanatical religious ideology. If Islamist terrorism was the driving force behind the senseless violence at Fort Hood, as it seems to be, this attack must serve as a call to action for the Federal Government.

The Fort Hood mass murder would not be the first time our service members have been violently assaulted from within their own ranks by an individual driven to act primarily by his religious ideology. As you may know, on March 23, 2003, during the initial phase of Operation Iraqi Freedom, an Army Sergeant named Hasan Akbar attacked his fellow service members in Kuwait with grenades and small arms, murdering two of them and wounding more than a dozen others. Akbar’s diary passages illustrated a strong religious motivation behind his actions: "I will have to decide to kill my Muslim brothers fighting for Saddam Hussein or my battle buddies. . . . I may not have killed any Muslims, but being in the Army is the same thing. I may have to make a choice very soon on who to kill."

We must not blame Islam as a whole for this attack or others of its kind; yet at the same time, we cannot ignore the indisputable fact that some followers of Islam interpret their religion’s scriptures and teachings as a mandate for the mass murder of innocents. Evidence indicating that terrorist activity may be in the offing must always be run to ground; federal agencies must follow every lead and look into every possible threat, regardless of whose particular sensitivities might be offended in the process. We must never allow the safety of those who defend our freedom to be made a secondary priority to political correctness.

But we're going to bring them to trial in New York City, drawing countless attention to the City again; drawing endless amounts of motions and dismissals by the asshat defense attorneys who are, I'm sure, chomping at the bit; bringing the how's and why's of our intelligence gathering to the public eye and giving the terrorist sympathizers around the world another opportunity to wax on and on about the evils of the United States. I've heard that al queda has already put a death sentence on the judge and jury for the case. Is that what you want, Mr. President? A trial that lasts years, that creates yet another target in New York City, and could eventually let the scumbags loose? You do not win wars against terrorists by treating them as criminals with their due rights. You hunt them down and kill them without mercy, without compassion and as an example to any wanna be terrorist scumbag. Mark my words. This will not end well.

If you managed to not have your head explode over THAT bombshell - get this: the messiah doesn't want Congress investigating the Ft. Hood shooter. Odd, I think. For one, you've got a Democrat Congress in your back pocket. You've got a news media that by and large is your lapdog. So why wouldn't you want Congress investigating? And finally, before my head completely and totally explodes, Obama continues his world wide apology tour in Japan. I can't wait to hear how his staff tries to explain THIS bow to a monarch. Maybe he was just "shrugging" or "bent down to say hello to a shorter man" or whatever drivel they'll try to explain this by. I wonder how far down he's going to bow to the ChiComs when he meets with them?
