GSG-5
The internet gun forums are abuzz with the latest "must have" item. Check out the AR-15 forums, the AK forums, Sturmgewehr, etc etc etc and you'll find a thread on the GSG-5.
The GSG-5 is an exact copy of the famous H&K MP5; except instead of 9mm, the GSG-5 is in .22LR! I've been lusting after an MP-5 every since the SAS debuted this fantastic weapon at Princess Gate.

Since you can no longer import MP-5s into the country, the price on them is simply out of my reach; or at least, out of my reach if I want to stay married, that is. For a semi-auto version, you could very easily pay more than $4,000 in today's market. Forget about full auto if you're a regular working guy. The GSG-5 is very affordable, at $500.
Ever since hearing about them, I've wanted to pick up a GSG-5. As mentioned above, I've had a lusting relationship for an MP-5 for the longest time. In addition to Princess Gate, I've been fortunate in having been able to shoot a full auto MP-5 on multiple occasions through different friends or Police agencies. Trust me when I say the MP-5 rocks!
Once I heard about the GSG-5, it looked like an opportunity to track down a dream I've had for over 25 years. So I started looking. And looking. And looking. No one had them. And not just here in the Metroplex. Anywhere in the country. I contacted gun shops literally from one end of the country to the other in a quest to find these little rifles before they became impossible to find. You see, only about 1500 or so are going to be imported into the country at first. With the great price point of the rifle, and the cheap cost of .22 ammo, the GSG-5 is going to be very hard to get. Add to the fact that all 4 of the main Presidential candidates will sign off on an assualt weapons ban, these rifles may not just be hard to find, but nearly impossible or crazy expensive in a year or so.
Our buddy Dave also got the lust for the rifle and put his immense intelligence apparutus to work tracking down the GSG-5. All I can say is that Dave needs to be working for the CIA because in only a few days, he tracked down 2 of these rifles - and right here in Dallas! He was able to sweet talk the seller into holding on to the two rifles for one day and one day only as people are literally busting down his door to buy them.
Dave and I drove out today and here you can see a pic of my latest aquisition.

Range report to follow ASAP.

Middle school issues ban on intentional flatulence
Surely this is a sign of the coming apocolypse. "They" have been trying to keep boys from being boys for at least the last 30 years or so. And look where that's gotten us. Republican primary choices that just flat out suck; Democrat primary choices where it's a question between a socilist and a socialist who cries the day before votes are cast. Metrosexuals abound, and we're all supposed to be getting in touch with our feminine side.
To hell with that!!
It would seem that a certain middle school has now banned intentional farting. Now, as to how you tell if it's an intentional fart or not is beyond me, but still, there you have it. All I can say is that I'm fortunate that this idiotic law doesn't apply to me today, or applied to me in school. Heaven knows I would have been in the proverbial deep caca at all times.
This brings back a little trip down memory lane for me.....
Once upon a time, I was a young lad completing my BS in Elementary Education. The final portion of school was when we got the opportunity to student teach; where they place a green soon to be teacher in the classroom with an experienced teacher. The first week I was teaching 1st graders was quite an eye opener. Every day after lunch we would come back to class and I would read to the kids. The first day as all the kids settled down, one little boy leans over and rips a fart out. I stopped reading, looked up, and none of the kids did anything. Until another one of them farted. And then another. There were no giggles, no reaction from the kids at all. They hadn't yet learned that farting was a public taboo!
This continued all week long. Friday was pizza day at lunch. At least it was at that time before we became worried about saturated fats and healthy foods at lunch time. I had two slices of pizza, which by the time we got back to class had given me some first class gas. I was determined to suck it up and hold out till after reading time and then sneak off to the teacher's restroom and take care of business.
I started reading and sure enough, the little kids started farting. By now I was in quite some pain. And I figured, what the hell, it's not like we're all being quiet now. So I let it rip. And it was truly world class. Keep in mind this is on those ridiculous hard plastic seats that schools use and that sucker revibrated off the seat. One of the young lads in the front row raised his eyebrows and leaned back - I think he could have been singed, but I'm not sure.
I snuck a look at the supervising teacher, who was at her desk grading papers. She was staring at me as if I had just dropped a thermonuclear bomb in the classroom, which I guess is pretty much what I did after all. I knew if I turned to look at her completely I would lose it and start giggling out of control so I just focused on reading the next sentence in the book and carried on.
After class was over I got out of there as quick as I could so I wouldn't have to deal with my supervising teacher and giggled all the way home.
Ahhhhh, the good ole days.
To hell with that!!

WTF? Over...
I don't get this. McCain is the called winner in Florida. Won South Carolina.
I really don't get it.
His McCain/Feingold was the largest attack on the 1st Amendment in history.
McCain/Kennedy was a massive boost to illegal immigrants.
Need I say the word "amnesty"??
He has a history of fighting against conservative judges in the Senate. He's been shown cuddling up to the Hildabeast.
He believes in the fraud that is global warming.
But here we have this 72 year old, lifetime politician - who's for term limits, by the way - winning.
Granted, since Thompson left the race I'm not thrilled with any of the Republican candidates. But McCain???
What the hell is happening to my Republican party?
Sheesh.

Fun with steel
Haven't posted some shooting video in awhile, so here you go.
We shot steel today at the Dallas Pistol Club. Lots of fun. In a steel match, you shoot each stage 5 times. Your worst run is tossed out, and then you add up the time of the stages that are left. At DPC, we usually shoot 5 stages, so that's a minimum of 125 rounds downrange. Since the cost of ammo is going out the roof, several of us have started to shoot steel with .22s - I can shoot the match for about $6-$7 which beats the hell out of what I'd pay in ammo to shoot the same thing in .45.
I'm shooting the Ruger MkIII I got for Christmas with a cheap Tasco red dot scope on it - word on the street is that by shooting with the dot, that will speed up my shooting with the iron sights as well. Time will tell, but it sure is fun!

This guy should be the poster boy for a "Be Aware of Your Surroundings" campaign. It doesn't matter where you are, or what time of day it is, you better know what is going on around you. Be kind to everybody you come in contact with, but have a plan to kill every one of them.

The Gun Show Loophole?
Once again, those folks who will stop at nothing to destroy our right to self defense are clamoring to close the infamous "gun show loophole".
This is a perfect example of shades of truth. At gun shows where licensed dealers and private citizens can sell guns (or whatever), you must fill out the requisite forms and get the mandatory NICS done if you purchase a gun from a Federally licensed dealer. No ifs, ands, or buts. However, if I (and I'm not an FFL) wanted to sell a gun to someone, then I could, without having to fill out the forms or file a report or ask permission from the government.
And therein, my friends, lies the dirty little secret behind wanting to close the infamous gun show loophole. If you close the gun show loophole and make everyone, licensed or not, file a form with the government then you are now infringing on my right to conduct business as I see fit, and with whom I choose. The private sale of a firearm from one person to another would virtually cease. And trust me, my friends, if they can make you fill out a form for purchasing a firearm, where will it stop? And I surely shouldn't have to remind you that the vast majority of criminals don't pay any attention to what the law says about anything. So the only people affected, once again, will be law abiding citizens.
I have been attending gun shows for at least the last 25 years. If you are to believe the liberal's rhetoric, that guns cause crime, then you could expect that gun shows are a virtual crimer fest with mass murders, robbery and mayhem. Strange, but I can't recall a single mass murder (like what happened in Virginia Tech) or for that matter a murder, period, at any gun show. Ever. With all those guns around, you'd think something like that would happen on any given weekend across the country. Why is it that the mass murders and mayhem always seem to happen where guns are not allowed, but in those places where you can find literally thousands of guns in any given spot (like a gun show), there's no crime?
In response to a comment that basically said if the students were allowed to carry guns legally on campus (again, note that the criminal in this case chose to ignore the law), that the rampage could have been stopped, one of the injured students from Va Tech had this little pearl of wisdom:
I don't carry a gun because I'm afraid. I carry a gun because unlike you, sir, I REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM.
Those who would take away our right to self defense refuse to let the facts speak for themselves.
They want everyone to go through a background check - even in the case of a private sale - even though Cho went through a background check - and passed. And with all this fuss about buying a gun through the gun show loophole, surely Cho must have purchased his weapons at a gun show, right?
Remember people, self defense is a human right. And you will not be taking that right away from me.
Survivors and families of the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings faced off Monday against gun-rights advocates over a bill that would prevent criminals and the mentally ill from buying firearms at gun showsAh, yes, the gun show loophole. That dirty little word that wrecks all sorts of havoc across our great land. Those who would want to take away our right to defend ourselves will tell you that anyone can walk off the street and buy a gun at a gun show without any paperwork whatsoever. No background check, nothing.

“I feel sorry for you — the fact that you feel you need to protect yourself in every situation. “You’re afraid of crazy situations happening. I’ve lived through this and I know that I can’t continue in my life afraid of things,” he said, adding that he put his “full trust” in the police to protect society.Since I share the belief that armed students could have stopped Cho, I will respond to this idiot by stating that yes - not only do I feel the need to protect myself (and my family/friends), but I have the right to do so. If you want to be a sheep, and rely on the Police (oh yes, by the way - how'd that work out the last time?) then by all means feel free.

... Cho did not buy his weapon at a gun show, but supporters [of those who would infringe upon my rights] said that doesn’t matter. The idea, they said, is to reduce the possibility of similar tragedies in the future. If you want to reduce the possibility of similar tragedies in the future, stop making people helpless victims with your ridiculous gun free zones - which do nothing more than make everyone in them a nice fat target for someone wishing them harm.
Remember people, self defense is a human right. And you will not be taking that right away from me.

Our pal, slick Willy
This clip is classic Clinton. I remember catching hints and rumors of the Clinton's berating their staff off and on when they were in the White House. However, considering the internets weren't nearly what they are today, that news never really was very widespread.
Watching the Clinton temper tantrums hours after they happen on the internets is just priceless.

Coming soon, to a diner near you!
One of the biggest problems with Liberals is that they automatically assume that THEY know better than the rest of us do what is best for each of us. Since we're all just stupid, mindless automatons that don't know how to take care of ourselves, it's up to them to save us from ourselves.
There are many examples.
Like to smoke? Well, obviously you're too big of an idiot, so we'll make it damn near impossible for you to light one up, even in your own home.
Like to eat McDonalds? Well, obviously, you don't know how bad trans fat is for your health, so we're going to ban it.
Like to drive a big, safe, comfortable car? Well, you obviously don't care for the environment so we'll set CAFE standards so tough, and tax the snot out of gas so you can't afford to buy or drive something safe enough to ensure your survivability in a wreck.
Like to hunt, or shoot guns? Oh well, quite obviously you haven't recognized that the American frontier was officially closed in 1890 and there's no need for you to own such a potentially deadly weapon.
Doubt my words?? Take what has happened in Congress' cafeteria now that "Nanny Nancy" is in charge.
Don't think it's not coming your way, either, my friends. Remember, according to the liberals, we're too stupid to take care of ourselves so they are going to save us, and in the process, save the planet.

The processed cheese has been replaced with brie. The Jell-O has made way for raspberry kiwi tarts and mini-lemon blueberry trifles. Meatloaf has moved over for mahi mahi and buns have been shunted aside in favor of baguettes. And this, folks, is only the beginning.
The menu transformation is part of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s “Greening the Capitol” plan to make the House campus more environmentally friendly and socially progressive. And what, you say? You don't want to fork out the extra bucks for lunch now?? You don't actually like to eat mahi mahi?? Well, tough tootsy for you, my friend! And what? You really don't like to use utensils that are compostable and enivornmentally friendly?
...customers would have to change their behavior to accommodate the environmentally friendly products....“We’re trying to save the planet here.”
Don't think it's not coming your way, either, my friends. Remember, according to the liberals, we're too stupid to take care of ourselves so they are going to save us, and in the process, save the planet.

You know, there are times I really don't like the Bush administration very much.
Bush administration backs gun regulationIf you don't think the upcoming election is important, think again. The sad thing is the bulk of ALL the candidates is anti gun - and all I can say to my friends in South Carolina - vote FRED!
A D.C. ban on home handguns may not be constitutional, the solicitor general tells the Supreme Court, but rights are limited and federal firearm restrictions should be upheld.
By David G. Savage, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
January 13, 2008
WASHINGTON -- In their legal battle over gun ownership and the 2nd Amendment, gun- control advocates never expected to get a boost from the Bush administration.
But that's just what happened when U.S. Solicitor General Paul D. Clement urged the Supreme Court in a brief Friday to say that gun rights are limited and subject to "reasonable regulation" by the government and that all federal restrictions on firearms should be upheld.
Reasonable regulations include the federal ban on machine guns and other "particularly dangerous types of firearms," he said in the brief. Moreover, the government forbids gun possession by felons, drug users, "mental defectives" and people subject to restraining orders, he said.
"Given the unquestionable threat to public safety that unrestricted private firearm possession would entail, various categories of firearm-related regulation are permitted by the 2nd Amendment," Clement said. He filed the brief in a closely watched case involving Washington, D.C.'s ban on keeping handguns at home for self-defense.
The head of a gun-control group said he was pleasantly surprised by the solicitor general's stand.
Paul Helmke, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Handgun Violence, said he saluted the administration for recognizing a need for limits on gun rights.
Something you won't see on the news. Of course.
More than 40 targets were hit, Jan. 10, after precision air strikes destroyed reported al-Qaida safehavens in Arab Jabour. Thirty-eight bombs were dropped within the first 10 minutes, with a total tonnage of 40,000 pounds. Now why is it the nightly news and ABCCBSNBCCNNFOX are more interested in showing us images of Hillary crying, Britney being carted off in an ambulance, and prattling on about Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson? The 'news' has long ago ceased providing us with any useful information.
The precision air strikes supported Operation Phantom Phoenix, the overarching operation that includes Operation Marne Thunderbolt.
A joint operation between the Air Force and Soldiers of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, required extensive planning to prevent collateral damage and to prevent the use of any area for attacks into Baghdad and against coalition forces.
The Air Force provided two B-1 Bombers and four F-16 fighter jets, aiming at three large target areas. Each bomber passed over twice and the F-16s followed to complete the set. Coordination between the two services was essential in making the operation a success.
Operation Marne Thunderbolt is an ongoing operation aimed at flushing out remaining al-Qaida extremists operating in the southern Arab Jabour area, and to create conditions for improved security.
Soldiers from 2nd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, will join the Iraqi security forces and the members of the Concerned Local Citizens program to continue these offensive operations to keep pressure on the enemy.

Are you really THAT stupid?
A lot of talk is swirling about the internets that Hillary pulled out a narrow win in New Hampshire due to her tearful comments the day before. Added to that, the two guys who were waving signs around at a rally stating "IRON MY SHIRTS" rallied the girl power to step up to the plate for the bat.
Let's watch the video:
OK. Notice the guys start yelling "IRON MY SHIRTS" for a bit before Hillary mentions to the stage hands to "turn up the lights". Really? You're on stage, running for President, and you want MORE attention drawn to your hecklers? I find that rather odd. Then, she makes the comment along the lines of "ah, the remnants of sexism still alive and well." BEFORE the lights come on in the audience. I've been on stage before with all the lights shining down on you. I can tell you my friends, you can't see shit past the stage; hell, I could barely see ON the stage. So you're telling me that Hillary could see and hear what the guys were saying? I don't buy it.
Now, for those folks in New Hampshire that were taken in by Hillary's crocodile tears and this setup on stage - are you really THAT stupid?
God help us if the rest of the country falls for her tripe.

CREDIT CARD PROCESSING COMPANY REJECTS FIREARMS INDUSTRY
REFUSES TO PROCESS TRANSACTIONS . . . Citi Merchant Services and First Data Corp. are refusing to process any credit card transactions between federally licensed firearms retailers, distributors and manufacturers -- a move which will severely limit available inventory of firearms and ammunition to military, law enforcement and law-abiding Americans.
The first company to be affected by this decision appears to be firearms distributor CDNN Sports Inc.
"We were contacted recently by First Data/Citi Merchant Services by a June Rivera-Mantilla stating that we were terminated and funds were being seized for selling firearms in a non-face-to-face transaction," said Charlie Crawford, president of CDNN Sports Inc. "Although perfectly legal, we were also informed that no transactions would be processed in the future, even for non-firearms. I find this very frightening."
To voice your concern to Citi Merchant Services and First Data Corp., please contact June Rivera-Mantilla at 631-683-7734 or her supervisor Robert Tenenbaum at 631-683-6570.
To change to an NSSF-affiliated credit card processing program, contact Payment Alliance International at 1-866-371-2273 (ext. 1131).
I've had CitiBank ever since I was in college from the early 90s. They are now cancelled. If they will not support legal gun purchases, I want nothing to do with them. I encourage you to do the same. Politely let them know why you are cancelling their services and let your voice be heard.
